Unless UNC hits the portal really hard they don’t have a promising roster next year on paper(of course it can change. But Davis is gone, Jackson draft, Tyson most likely gone. Cadeau could come back so could the other wing they have that is playing well this year(blanking in the name)
He just wrote "soon" in a Tweet. Probably carving down a final five. Hopefully he skips ahead and just commits and gives up the hype production.
If you don't mind, Saul ... tell me about what you know that underlies this post. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I generally like Acaden Lewis - in addition to his apparently being a great player - because he went to Sidwell Friends - certainly (at least, as far as I know) not a "basketball factory", etc. I'd guess that a kid has to be a pretty good student to get into S.F., regardless of his or her athletic prowess. Am I wrong about that ?

Some folks think he's just trimming his list and won't decide until late-December, early-January (with Kentucky being the leader).
Others think he's already made his choice and might verbally commit in the early signing period, which ends November 20th.
I tend to lean toward the latter, although I have to admit that Wilson is a kid who loves the attention, so I could see him dragging it out to Christmas time.
The good news is that UK is the perceived leader in both cases.

Sign the first one willing to commit, and move on.
Just like UK did last summer, the top programs can easily reload from the portal any year from now on.
But I’m sure a recruit would like to know as many names as possible.
We can afford to wait for him. If he decides to go somewhere else, we will find a replacement in the portal.
I think it’s just the standard “this kid likes/would like to play with this kid” stuff thrown around every recruiting cycle. And, as usual, probably a greatly overblown factor grabbed onto by a fanbase that already has a commitment from the other player. Personally, I think if Wilson decides to commit to UK (which seems to be at least a decent bet) if will not be because the Lewis kid chose to go to UK.

Pope won’t be handcuffed like the previous Coach, of course we all want him but I’m sure Pope has a backup plan if Wilson doesn’t choose KY. Practicing in a KY Shirt is pretty obvious to most
For sure, and I would honestly expect unc to reload. But as of now it looks like a lot of work will need to be done
They like each other and each has publicly said he'd like to play with the other in college. Not lifelong best friends or anything like that as far as I know but they know and like each other and it's a small edge for us.
I honestly think Pope already knows he’s coming here. Haven’t heard anything lately on Cenac or Ament. You would think if Wilson was still undecided we would be in hot pursuit of one of those guys.
If we get Wilson, we are going to have the talent/experience combination that we’ve dreamed of for some time. 4-5 All Americans and at the least 3 guys from our team this year making significant contributions coming back.

I agree. Pope alluded to Wilson a few weeks ago when he said there was a "fire that needed to be put out" but they were able to do it, and then he told BBN, "we're fine now."
I think it was the same week Wilson visited UNC. I think UNC probably offered Wilson more money than UK, and Wilson was strongly considering it. Pope and his guys then followed up that UNC visit by going to see Caleb. I think the UK staff reassured Wilson at that point, and pretty much solidified the commitment at that point.

I think Pope brings in at least three from the portal, and possibly four now that everyone gets 15 scholarships next season.
One point guard, one stretch four, and either a backup center or a backup wing. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the portal transfers look like this:
Point guard
Wing forward
Stretch four
Center
Noah and Perry better work their asses off in the offseason if they want to be rotation pieces next year, because it's not a guarantee right now.
I haven’t heard about that comier guy from Wofford, but he would be a perfect fit for next years roster. Basically a smaller brea.
After seeing some of the older transfer kids play this year that may be the way to go
I do think that's one of the big positives about the portal. Don't have to wait while a twerp drags you along.

Acaden Lewis said in an interview that Pope told him that we would have four Freshmen, five returnees, and three portal players next season. Wilson is expected to be that fourth Freshman. We know who the five returnees are. That just leaves the three portal guys to add in the Spring. I figure we will add a veteran PG, a veteran stretch 4, and then another shooter regardless of position.
Only ones eligible to return are Oweh, Garrison, Chandler, Perry, and Noah. I assume that’s the five Pope expects back (according to Lewis).
I assume the 5 expected returnees are Oweh/Garrison/Chandler/Perry/Noah. No guarantees at all though on Oweh with how he is playing and potentially Garrison too if he keeps developing. Would be great if we can return all 5 though.
