Alright, y’all, take a deep breath. Exhale.

We’re gonna be ok. Our 2015 team had a midseason slump as well (don’t forget).

But I will say, something isn’t right with Tre Jones. Taking nothing away from that Johnson kid (hope he’s ok by the way), but if you remember when Jones went down in the Clemson game, he just never seemed right since. He fought back like any competitor would, but something just doesn’t seem right.

We also see how valuable Wendell Moore is as well. Our turnovers have skyrocketed without him as he was our de facto 3rd PG. Cant wait to get him back so teams can’t focus on doubling Vernon.

I didn’t get to see the Clemson game. What happened to Jones during the game?

I'll be glad when Wendell is back. I know some don't feel like he makes much of an impact, but the eye test tells me he makes a HUGE impact.

I went back and looked at the box score for each of our 3 losses. We had 15+ turnovers in all 3 of those losses. We shot poorly from the 3 point line in 2 of 3 of those losses. We shot poorly from the free throw line in 2 of 3 of those losses. We need to be better in all 3 of those areas to avoid losses but imo we really need to improve free throw shooting and turnovers. I think we could possibly survive a poor 3 point shooting night if we make our free throw and cut down on turnovers.

This team can still do great things moving forward, but we also need to be realistic.
Can this team get to the final 4? Yes. But, if we are completely honest, our last 4 teams didn’t improve after January.
Let’s all hope this team does.

I get it; slumps happen. Teams lose games. It's no cause of freaking out.

.... But pointing to the 2015 team as reference seems far less than helpful. This team is certainly not that team.

We’ve somewhat turned into politics though lol, drawing a line that you’re on one side of, apparently. If we critique anyone or say that we won’t win, you get thrown in the bucket with people like VA and KoachQ who say everyone sucks all of the time. Then on the other side we have guys who say “we’re going to win” even if we’re down 50 and playing with 3 guys on the court, and if you disagree, you’re wrong and a negative Nancy.

I’m starting to understand why some just lurk and read - it’s tempting to go back to that.

This team will be fine. Will they win the title? If they stay the same as today, no. Fortunately it’s January and Moore will be back. Matthew does need to turn the corner though. There’s more in that kid we haven’t seen.

Sometimes, it takes more than just one loss for things to turn around... for one or two of these crazy-talented young men to dig deep and find something special. As I recall, it was after that January slump in 2015, Justise Winslow became Justise Winslow. We forget just how young these guys are. Through much of their respective basketball careers prior to this, they’ve never really had to deal with adversity. Welcome to adulthood guys. Now... grow from it. Learn from it. Remember how you felt, and keep moving forward. We’ll be fine. We got lulled into a false sense of security there for a while. Louisville came ready to play. They were the more aggressive team. I’m not a Kentucky fan; I won’t complain about the refs, or injuries. I’m not a Tarheel fan; I won’t throw our guys under the bus. I’m a Duke fan. We live a charmed life, so much so that we often take winning for granted. It’s never given... it always has to be earned.

Well stated Correct. All that against them, and we still had a tie game with 4 minutes left and a chance to win.

You definitely have a point. But for me, the posters that get on my nerves are the ones when we are winning, Duke is the best team in the country. These last 2 games, all of a sudden they are not that team anymore. When they lose, Duke is the **** posters turn into Duke ain't ****( paraphrasing) poster. The comments are bipolar. Instead of talking about it, maybe I'll start copying and pasting exactly what I'm talking about.

When people realize no matter that it's Duke, they can and will lose when we think they should win, will have bad games, a certain player can struggle, then get on here and trash the team. Its one thing to say we look like crap tonight, but another to start talking about how they are not that good in general. This has happened early in some games.
