Illinois DT who was HS teammates with Damion Daniels interested in transferring to NU? Anyone hearing this??

Have heard this rumor along with Beason having renewed interest. Have also heard they are staying put with "The Beard"
Would take them both in a heartbeat
Must be pretty desperate to transfer in conference and lose two years of eligibility. Consider me skeptical.
He "might" be able to leave in Dec, transfer to a juco for a semester---since he was a full qualifier---then come to NU

4 yr-2yr-4yr rules still apply. He would have to have an Associates Degree in order to go D1 - Juco - D1
I was wondering about that. I thought I read that the B1G was considering removing that penalty at one time and I wonder if that ever happened.
In conference transfers never had to sit 2 years. They had to sit 1 year, but lost 2 years from their eligibility clock.
I think this has calmed down with Lovie staying. If Lovie would have been canned it might have had more smoke, not saying it still can't happen. We screwed the pooch with Avery during his initial recruitment.
Heard Disco Diaco screwed up and pulled his offer.

Nothing definitive from football program, but here's a text I got from someone who covers Illinois daily: "Wouldn't surprise me. Everyone is going to flee here."
Diaco may have been concerned that he would have been able to tackle Minnesota's QB.
