Funny how that works when you get basketball players who can shoot rather than just elite athletes. Might be an exaggeration but you get my point.
Develop your offense around them longtime overdue so much fun and entertaining to watch
Or the myth that it will take a couple of months into the season for the players to gel and play together well.
Funny thing is last night I kept expecting us to jack up 3s. Yeah we took 24 but that is 11 short of the 35 Pope wants a game. Shows how these guys take what is given. We had 2 guys not miss a 3 and one took 3 and the other 4. Robinson really did not have to do much of anything like night and was still involved and not pouting. Perry and Noah got mop up duty and was playing with a smile out there. it seems like right now, Pope have everyone bought into the system. It seems like each guy likes playing with the other guys out there.
I wasn't a "months" guy, per se, but I do see that being an issue in the coming weeks. Two turnovers at least from offensive miscommunication, some rebounding and defensive lapses, and it sounds like Pope hasn't fully implemented his offense.
BUT, this game warrants an A from me. So happy.

You have offensive miscommunications with NBA teams that have played together for years. I’m not worried about our deficiencies right now, Coach Pope or another coach will pick it out on the film and they will work on it. I’m not sweating this coaching staff this year.

Yes. Brea and Oweh did not miss a three, making 7 of the 11 the team made during the game.
I think there is some truth to it though. I read somewhere that Pope has the team do the pregame walkthrough/shoot around at Rupp when Cal had them do them at the Craft Center.
