Can/will this offense help this defense?

Last two years-- too many critical situations where we went 3 and out or had very short drives or lost yardage due to stupid penalties or failed to get a short yardage first down. It put the defense on the field way too often and often in precarious positions on the field. Actually there were times when our D played outstanding...but in the course of a game, if the offense isn't making some drives, the D gets winded and disheartened.

The Defensive line is our weakest link, and if our offense can sustain a lot of drives, and score on a good percentage of them, perhaps we will keep the opponent's QB off the field. For an undermanned D this could be one of our great assets. I would certainly welcome us getting some quick scores, but we need to have some sustained drives along the way.

I think so. I think the offense is going to be solid. Barker being good is key to this offense being very good.

To be honest...
- I think we have two better coaches in Gran/Hinshaw vs. Dawson/Scott
- We brought back the entire offense save Swindle and Towles
- I think at minimum we have a better scheme that is going to move chains with good short passing game (we had a really bad short passing scheme) and I think we concentrate on Boom/JoJo keeping with the run game.

I think we do possess the ball more this year which has to help the defense
