I've been saying for years that he will never get a ring. But he is not the only problem on that team.

Carmelo wasted his potential to be one of the greatest of all time. He was a flat out stud with the Nuggets. 25-28ppg 6-8 rpg and 3-5 assists per game. I always thought he had the chance to be better than LeBron just because of his jump shot. He has no work ethic. He's become overly out of shape and forced him to be nothing more than a volume scorer. He plays 0 defense and has no willingness to put work in to be better. I don't think he cares about the game of basketball anymore.

As a lifelong Denver Nuggets fan, I couldn’t agree more with your assessment.

never been a winner in the NBA, never will be unless he hitches his wagon to a title contender's 10th man role 2 years before he retires.

He may be the problem with his OKC team right now. I’ve turned the game off but near 7 minutes left he was getting exposed. They were running screens to get Mitchell matched up against him and he lost that battle easily, and that’s to a rookie. A talented rookie but still. I’ve never liked his game. He can still score, not like he used to, but when he’s off, I don’t know what he brings to the table.

He’s finishing up his 15th year in the league while playing a ton of minutes. His decline was fairly expected.

Just cares about scoring and his stats. Plays little to no defense.

The Knicks absolutely won that trade as Kanter is everything OKC needs when Adams is out.

If the Knicks took Dennis Smith Jr or Malik Monk over the foreign guy they could have been a playoff team this year depending on the Porzingis injury.

Carmelo has a lot of mileage for a scorer. Then knee problems hit that took away efficiency on his offense and any effort on d. Never been at the right place right time. A lot to being a great is your organization

I don't think he's obligated to care about anything but money. It's a job. It's his employer that made the decision to offer it. I imagine at his age, declining everything he can be expected much. You can't beat father time.

Carmelo is one of the most overrated "stars" of his generation.

I do give him credit for gaming the system. Prioritizing PPG at the expense of team performance is a valid strategy for maximizing profit in the league. There's always a foolish owner around willing to lock up their entire team and their future by investing in a player with a gilded PPG stat.

He did get boards too decent assists but Denver, knicks and now okc just weren't making good decisions.

I remember a game when he was with the Knicks like four or five years ago. The team would be moving the ball and then when it got to him, everything stopped. He didn't look to pass. He just eyed the defender, tunnel vision, then put it on the ground and then jacked up a terrible shot.

A perfect summary of Melo in the NBA post Denver.
