2004 RX-8. I ordered it directly from the factory before my dealer had any in stock. I drove it for 16 years before engine problems forced me to give it up. When I first got it, a high school kid came up to me and said "Man, that ride looks fast even when it's not moving."

2001 Toyota Avalon XLS. I loved that car. Super comfortable and roomy. Crazy thing actually got higher mileage the faster that it went. 75mph was higher than 65mph. I saw it last spring on my way to see my mom at Messiah Village rehab. My cousin loved mine and bought one after riding in it in a golf weekend. 4 men and our golf bags all fit with ease. My FIL also bought one.

Both the cars I owned...
They were paid off, but the repairs needed cost more than a new car.
Accords 1996 with 280k
2008 with 250k.
I sold ($1k) the 1996 away to a friend who needed a beater. he drove it for another 100k. He just filled it up with oil and checked the gas level.

'97 Cadillac Seville. Shoulda repaired the oil leak. Instead, bought a 2 year old Buick Regal. Nice car that I thought would get me better mileage. Got one extra mpg with nowhere near the ride that I got from the Caddy.

Not all mine - but cars I have driven over the years that I would love to drive again.

69 Jeep Commando (very cool and hard to find)
59 Willys Pickup (in low range, it would go absolutely anywhere)
82 Grand Wagoneer (folk's SUV that now cost more than Cayenne's sometimes)
82 VW Diesel Pickup (delivery truck that only struggled w/ mountains)
83 VW Diesel Rabbit (could get from Williamsport to State College on 60 cents of fuel)
81 300D Sedan (you could certainly hear it coming - engine has to be running something today)
95 Explorer Sport 2 door (5 speed manual w/ cruise control that worked in 2nd gear at beach)

I gave my bro an 06 beetle with 140k miles. He drove it another 100k then it burnt up in his work parking lot and melted a new F150 parked next to him. Girl was unhappy with my bro

My favorite was a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible with a stock 318. Lime green and had a great ride. Rear window was actually stitched in glass and not that plastic stuff that looked like crap. It's hard to find a photo of this car on the internet because Plymouth discontinued the Barracuda mid-year 1970, and introduced the 1970 Cuda. All the pictures I could find were actually Cuda's, and not Barracuda's. Gas tank fill location was behind the license plate, so it didn't matter which direction you pulled into a station to refill.

My most missed car was a 2003 Honda S2000; fantastic car and had a great time modding except my wallet became much lighter. Sold it in 2013 and purchased a very rare 2013 BMW AH3 which I still have today and plan to keep as long as possible.

My most missed motorcycle was a 1992 Kawasaki ZX11 ... many fond memories taking it on trips throughout the western states. Now have a 2022 BMW K1600 that took its' spot.

Traded in my 2003 Pontiac Vibe this summer to get my daughter a new car. That thing never had an issue. We got it almost exactly 1 year after my second oldest daughter was born. I loved that car.

Doug’s got you

Mine was a metallic burgundy on light tan. Front engine V-12 with a Tubi exhaust really sang. Loved driving through tunnels and under overpasses. This model held the record for the avg. speed over a 24 hr period for a production care. It was over 190mph.
With the Ferrari shield, the prancing horse, on the front fenders, I had a lady ask me if it was the new Mustang. :ROFLMAO:

I remember this as if it were yesterday. On a Saturday morning my mom and I had a lively discussion about me needing my own car, we were standing in our driveway. It was 1980, I just turned 17 and I got my license. This old Italian man who lived 3 houses away must have overheard our conversation. He first whistled at me and then waved me over. Great, now I was going to get an ear full for yelling at my mom. When I get there we walked over to his garage and there was an avocado green 1968 Pontiac 2-door Tempest with an Inline 6 cylinder. He said, all it needs is a battery. We go to Sears and buy a new battery, install it and it started right up. He handed me the title, we shook hands and that’s how I got my first car. Great memories. I had that car for 2.5 years and yes, I loved that car.

2005 Harley Fatboy…….sigh
It was after a bad break up. It was the result of "shopping therapy".

But, it had custom paint, and it was 7/200 custom tins HD did that year. Blue on blue flame and had extra chrome. It had a bad lands seat, which looked great, but gave no back support. As I got older, i rode it less and less and got an Ultra with a nice back support and highway pegs. Still have that one. Did a trip to and from Nova Scotia and it was incredibly comfortable.

Dang, that’s quite a story. That man must have been something. Thanks for sharing, has made my day.
