Apparently Chapo's son was on the plane and the gang was trying to stop it from taking off.

Why is the footage of the gunship dark? Was that from the operation to actually capture the son?
I'm assuming an arrest occurred and that helo was covering the escape. Just saw it so not sure of specifics yet. Haven't even seen any new sites pick it up yet.

Yea... this is looking worse than the 2019 fight they had. The cartel kinda won that one quickly. The fact that it seems the military got the win and now we are waiting for the retaliation is kind of scary. They run that whole region and most of the country and have more money than the government.

I wonder what kind of deal the cartels have with the US government to keep the violence all on the Mexican side.
It's not a deal it is an understanding. No cartel wants the 'attention' of the US Military and if the cartels wind up being declared terrorist organizations then their lives change overnight. Any drug lord anywhere could have a Seal Team paying them a 4am visit and they do not want that. Keep the violence South of the border or you are officially on the field as enemy combatants. Big difference in dealing with the DEA or having to deal with DOD as the DOD isn't trying to arrest you, they are going to kill you as soon as they know where you are.

Declaring drug cartels terrorist organizations is a big, big, big deal. The cartels know H.R.2600 completely changes their lives if it ever gets traction in Washington.

Lol you dipshit. You don’t think the billionaires running the cartels are paying off hundreds of US politicians? There is video of them ambushing the Mexican military and attacking hospitals and the US isn’t even attempting to help 😂
What I like to do is actually read instead of flying off at the handle like some homeless street urchin that got his nachos stepped on and is mad because a passing cloud looks like his dead aunt Mae.

The poster I replied to said "what kind of deal the cartels have with the US government" not what kind of deal do the cartels have with misc individuals they can pick off and bribe. Like all "businesses" of course the cartels spread money around if it helps their cause but alas that doesn't change the fact that this has absolutely nothing to do with official US Govt policy... which as I pointed out would change dramatically if drug cartels become classified as terrorist organizations under H.R.2600.

I like that you want to be involved in the conversation and that you're quivering with excitement with your hand raised desperately wanting me to acknowledge you, but simmer down there little fella and maybe just read what I post and nod quietly in agreement for a few days then try your hand at posting again.

And please spare us a "politicians are paid off to prevent cartels from being classified as terrorist organizations" drivel reply as the issue is much more complex than that. We've been kicking it around for over a decade and it hasn't gotten any easier. That's why the status quo is holding as the options get murky and uncontrollable so we leave it where it is on both sides.

Declaring Mexican Drug Cartels ‘Terrorists’ Is a Bad Old Idea

29 dead as of yesterday. I guess we have 2 more days until the cartels threat deadline. Wild that this isn't on US news at all.

The real war the US should have fought was taking these cartels out long ago. However, that is bad for business. Better believe POS politicians have made a lot of money off them. Let them bring their drugs and illegals into our country and in return get paid a lot of money to turn a blind eye. Do just enough to give an illusion they are trying to do something about it.

They start shooting at Americans, they are going to have a whole lot more than the Mexican army to deal with.
Plenty of US citizens have been killed in Mexico by the Cartel. Here is one instance.

Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to address the brutal attack and offered to help Mexico flush out "these monsters."

"This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth," Trump tweeted. "We merely await a call from your great new president!"

Mexico's president released a statement saying Mexico did not "need the intervention of a foreign government to deal with these cases."
