The days of pursuing guys with offer lists like Davidson, Lehigh, Drake and Colorado St. in August/September need to be over, plain and simple. This is Collins' make-or-break year and he needs a recruiting class that will be top five in the conference. Guys with offer lists like that won't get him there.

Collins needs good players. And I’m sure he’s only offering guys he thinks are good players. Question is whether he’s right.

The most reliable indicator is who else is offering. He can't afford any projects nor "sleepers" in this class.

When the guys who would make a “top five class in the Big Ten” turn you down, then you move on to your “B” list, which NU has clearly done.

Lol. Setting an arbitrary benchmark for success that you know won’t be met so you can bash Collins. So obvious.

NU is a developmental program at its core and a recruiting class that’s in the middle of the pack will be just fine to sustain the team’s momentum.
