The Wildcats and Blue Demons will meet in 2019 at Wintrust Arena for the final game of the previous series agreement. Under the extension, Northwestern will host DePaul at Welsh-Ryan Arena in 2020, 2022 and 2024 and travel to Wintrust Arena for contests in 2021 and 2023.

NORTHWESTERN-DePAUL FUTURE DATES
Saturday, December 19, 2020 Welsh-Ryan Arena
Saturday, December 18, 2021 Wintrust Arena
Saturday, December 17, 2022 Welsh-Ryan Arena
Saturday, December 16, 2023 Wintrust Arena
Saturday, December 21, 2024 Welsh-Ryan Arena

Northwestern and DePaul have met 34 times in the series history. The Wildcats have won six of the previous eight meetings against DePaul and are in the midst of a four-game win streak, NU’s longest against the Blue Demons in program history.

The Wildcats topped DePaul, 75-68, at Welsh-Ryan Arena last season on Dec. 8, 2018.

Times for each game will be released at later dates.

A good move. Basketball neighbors in big cities should be playing each other. The Big 5 series in Philly has always been loads of fun, even though Villanova has started to be dominant in recent years.

Do they still play all the games at The Palestra ?

Agree and NU should also schedule Loyola, Marquette and Bradley.

No. While they still play quite a few there, many of the games are played on the home courts of the various teams. As you probably know, the Palestra is actually Penn's home court. It's a great old building. I got to see a doubleheader there once in 1970 with Villanova against Princeton and Penn vs. Temple. I went with a Villanova fan whom I though for a while was going to drag me into a fight with a nearby Penn fan — Catholic mainline school vs. Ivy League vibe there. It was some good basketball as Villanova, led by Howard Porter, was the national runner-up that year. Their tourney wins were later revoked when it was found that Porter had signed early with an agent while still in school. I believe Penn won the past year's series with a 4-0 record over Villanova's 3-1. St. Joe's went winless and brought up the rear.
