CATS versus UCSB (Friday).......

Kyle Cody going for UK today at 5:00 pm eastern time. UCSB is ranked 16th in one poll, and the Gouchos took 4 straight from BYU last weekend plus Monday.
Should be an interesting series, teams have never met before, UK is now 2-1 on the season.

Not a good start. We've given up 3 runs going to the top of the third. We have one run ourselves so not too bad, but not the best start.

UCSB leads 10-2 going to the bottom of the 6th.......Ouch !!

I believe that we made it 10-3 to end the game in the 9th. Not a good start to our games out west. Hopefully this is not an indication of the year we will have against the better SEC teams.

Yep, final score UCSB 10 UK 3. Kyle Cody gives up 7 runs in 3 innings, UK actually out hit the Gouchos 10-9, but couldn't bunch them enough to score more than 3.
On a bright note Freshman lefty Brad Schenzer in his UK debut, pitches 3 shutout innings. UCSB play by play guy thinks that maybe Dylan Dwyer tomorrow, or possibly Zac Brown for UK.

I think we out hit USC also on Thursday. We just couldn't push our guys across the plate.

^^^^^You are correct, Cats out hit USC 9-8, but could only manage 2 runs. If we can get the timely hit, and I believe we will, we will win some of these games before long. That is, IF our pitchers can keep the opposition down.
