UK goes for the sweep today against Buffalo. Kyle Cody to take the bump looking to go 2-1 on the season. Cats have swung the bats better the 1st 2 games of the series, especially Evan White , G McNeil, R Mahan, and L Becker. T Pompey has hit the long ball pretty well, Shelby has dropped off a little but still scored and drives in runs.

Kyle Cody has allowed three hits and walked two guys so far in the top of the 1st. Buffalo leads 2-0. Bags loaded.
Well that didn't start well. Down 5-0 in the top of the first. 4 of those are earned runes for Cody. Becker has committed an error.

Serious question. Cody has struggled for three weeks in a row. Is it time to remove him from the weekend rotation?
He was good against Dayton. Threw seven shutout innings. Doubt Henderson removes him from the rotation this early.
No offense to the kid but Cody has struggled for at least 2 years. He's never been a guy you can fully rely on to give a great outing every time. Just very inconsistent. He's got the tools but has to improve his consistency.
Cody seems to struggle in the early months, and then comes on in late April and May. Seems like he is a warm weather pitcher, he has sure struggled lately. Not looking like a high draft choice at all.
Nice rally here from UK. Five unanswered runs to make it 8-5. Shelby up with White on second base.
McNeill doubles down the line to score White and Shelby. Wildcats trail 8-7 now. I'll be surprised if UK doesn't win this game by a few runs.

Salow hasn't allowed a hit through four innings. Struck out eight of the 14 batters he's faced.

Salow leaves after pitching 4.2 innings. Struck out a career-high nine batters. Only allowed one hit. Justin Lewis into pitch.
I would like to see Lewis get a few midweek starts. Maybe even take over a weekend role if he does well and our others continue to struggle.
Been in the low 90s most of the day. The highest speed I've heard on the walkie was 93.
Wilson was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Stole second during White's AB, but White struck out. Shelby up now with one down.

That was 3 worst AB's that I've seen. All 3 got themselves out. That pitcher wasn't throwing any FB's in the zone. Not smart at all. I worry about this team when they play the real SEC competition. It's going to be a long season.
