another elimination game for UK. The big question ....who will start on the mound for the Cats ? There are several options, Brown, Salow, Nelson, Shepherd, and yeas even Cody. In Friday's game, no one for UK was effective, except Nelson for 2 or 3 innings, then he too faded.
My guess is Brown, who did pretty good against Miss. State in the SEC tourney, and has a rocket arm, will get his chance. The trio of Cody, Nelson, and Shepherd couldn't get it done earlier, so why not give Brown his shot. If he falters early, there are plenty of people in the pen to go to. A J really saved our bacon yesterday going 9 innings, and getting the win.
I am interested in the thoughts of others as to who will get the ball for the Cats today !!

Went over to the Louisville board, they are making fun of our 'light' turnout for the game yesterday. Doesn't the host teams' fans gobble up most of the tickets ? I know each school has an allotment, and UK will have the 2nd largest fan base there, but the 3 other teams are somewhat handcuffed as afar as tickets are concerned.

AJ REED is SUPERMAN. Pitch him every inning for the rest of the season
.

Nelson is probably out. He threw 81 pitches on Friday. Sheperd might be available, but probably not for long (66 pitches against KU).

Kyle Cody could get the call. He only threw 29 pitches on Friday. He didn't pitch all that well, but he had ZERO defensive support. He's still the best pitcher on this staff not named AJ Reed.

If UK plays twice today, you have to figure Zach Brown will start one of them. He did a nice job against MSU in the SEC Tournament. Same for Spencer Jack.

Overall, not a great situation for Henderson to be in. He's already used his top four starters. For UK to advance, they'll need some luck on the mound or a ton of offense.

GBB!!!

The turnout for the first KU game wasn't bad considering the weather.
And, the poor performance killed fan enthusiasm for game 2.

With Uof LOL winning both their games, their fan have purchased all available tickets for today, so
no walk-up ticket sales for UK fans.

Hopefully, we can get the mojo back today and make the magic happen...

Are you sure about this...There should be plenty of tickets for the KU-UK game...After each game the stadium is cleared out for the next session...If you mean they gobbled up all the tickets for the 4pm game then that very well could be the case...our crowd on Fri. was very respectable considering all we had to sit thru...Each school DID NOT get an allotment because we called the UK ticket office to see...

Mike-D: It is scheduled to be on ESPN3 at noon. There is a slot for an NCAA game on ESPNU at noon, but the teams aren't listed. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll put it on ESPNU.

The game was supposed to be on ESPNU, but I have E60 on mine. Watching on ESPN3.

Reed with a sac fly has the Cats score first for the first time in the regional. 1-0 Cats.

Same here but I can't get ESPN3, isn't anyone streaming it, can't find it on any place I have gotten it before.

They now have Nebraska and Fullerton coming on at 10 on ESPNU, figures.

This is busted wide open as Kuhn clears the bases with a bases loaded triple. Nobody out, Reed up, 6-0 Cats.

Kansas with four hits to open the bottom of the 6th. 8-1 with bases loaded and nobody out. That'll be it for Brown. Martin coming in.

Cats doing their best softball team impression. Double brings home two more. 8-3. Still second and third with nobody out.

Henderson should be fired on the spot if they lose. He stupidly left Brown in to start the 6th inning. He is an idiot.

Can somebody please tell me why, after getting the lead off man on the past 2 innings, we are not bunting them over to 2nd ? We have hit into friggin Double plays 2 straight innings. If Kansas catches up or goes ahead in the 8th we have had it !

Because if you use Kuhn to bunt Cousino, then Kansas intentionally walks Reed.

Cats go in order in the 9th. Jack coming on for the save. Cats are three outs from playing the Cards.

Jack hits a guy but they call him for leaning in (good call). He does not get first. It doesn't matter though as he walks.

So what, they walk with nobody on, or hit him. In the 7th Thomas singled, Wilson hit into a dp, had they bunted him over there was a walk, and an out, and Reida singled, that makes it 9-6. Could have been a huge run.

Well, a win is a win. Do not like blowing most of an 8 run lead, but with our pitching staff, no lead is safe. At least we have 3 pitchers Reed, Brown, and Martin, who didn't have little Orphan Annie eyes when they took the mound.
Don't know who they will send out against the Tards, I just hope they can give us at least a little hope.
