LOL, a routine ground ball to 2nd, any middle schooler could field and throw out a guy at 1st, and throws it wide allowing the 3rd unearned OM run today..... Holy Geeze !
Ole ' Stringbean ' as I heard an OM fan call him, came thru with the pressure on. Who knows we may win one......Maybe !
Don't think it's totally over, but they probably must sweep Mizzou and at least win one maybe two sec tourney games unless they find some way to not make the sec tourney
Ok just checked and even if they get swept by Mizzou they are still in sec tourney, but they can kiss ncaa good bye with out making at least the finals
I really didn't think we'd lose this one after going up 5 runs early. Still... hope it's enough to open some blind eyes.
If we sweep Missouri it will clinch an NCAA Tourney bid with 16 SEC wins, No SEC team has failed to get a bid with 16 SEC wins. If we win 2 of 3 from Missouri then we must make some noise in the SEC Tournament to get the bid.
Remember the first round of the SEC Tournament is Single Elimination and then it turns to Double elimination once it gets to the final 8 teams.
I thought that after the CAts had a 5-0 lead, they manage to get runners on 2nd & 3rd and failed to get them in with less than two outs was a big momentum killer and let Ole Miss get their confidence back up. I also felt the home plate umpire squeezed Hjelle in the two innings he was in and that led to the game winnning homer.
One final comment, the CAts are in a serious free fall with a lot of key hitters feeling the pressure. If there is not a change in the Hitting coach, Green, after the season then this collaspe will repeat again next season.

GREEN ??? He left after the 2014 season to be the HC at New Mexico State, his alma mater. Rick Eckstein is our hitting coach last year and this year. The team was MUCH better offensively, when Green was our hitting coach !

This game did it. It's all over now. Can't get swept. Even winning the mizzou series doesn't help our RPI. i suppose a sweep may get us in, but we lose to bad teams all the time, no reason to think that we can sweep. Please get a new coach for next year.
I think we could be in and part of what's helping us is that the sec and acc are very good and every other league is very bad. So many of the usual faces from the pac12, big 10 and big12 may stay at home while we go.
If you're going to criticize the coaching staff then you should at least know who is on the staff!! Green has been gone for 2 years. Good grief.
Come on Gabe...a hitting coach that hasn't here in two years. NO the head of of the team MUST go!!!
My bad- of course I knew who the hitting coach is, I just had a brief senior moment. Regardless, if Mitch is stuck with Henderson, then he should insist on a staff shake-up. The offense is stagnent and there are too many holes in the lineup to say that UK is complete on offense.
