Cats are probably two one run losses from being a regional lock. Hope they can finish with 3 conference series wins.

Cats leading 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th. Hansen has a 2-run HR. Harris 6 innings, 6 K's, 2 runs so far.

Pulled off another double steal with Koontz and Burkes. Hage drives in Burkes with a single, RBI Single for Cameron 7-3 Cats.

Any team that doesn't play MO is getting shafted in the standings. Of course that includes us.

Any team that plays TX is getting shafted in the standings. Of course that includes us.

We're not near as bad as our SEC record says at first glance. JMO.

Was watching the Southeastern 16 preview show for this weekend and they were discussing how the tournament committee would treat the Missouri wins teams have differently or not consider them at all because they are a historically bad SEC team

Really needed a sweep this weekend. Not looking good right now and I’m concerned about tomorrow. We have some massive weaknesses offensively right now.

Worst loss of the season. Some of the coaching decisions made during late innings of home SEC games this year have been ridiculously bad

Every game when the opponent comes back and we don’t respond it turns into this post game crap.
Wish we would want to fight during the game !
By fight I mean with our performance. We have some unbelievably bad at bats!

I say it every week - we have to lead the country in first pitch foul pop outs !!

End of rant …..😂

Losses by scores of 5-4 have been a dagger for UK. Lost to Murray St, Ole Miss, Texas, and now USC by that score.

I attended the doubleheader yesterday. Weird day.

-Harris was fantastic, he got better as the game went on. That is really good news, as we now have a potential for three rock solid starters every weekend (though McKay can really leak oil sometimes).
-Got some power yesterday, that was exciting seeing UK hit more homers than the opponent for a change.
-McKay just didn't have it. Really disappointing, given his performance in Knoxville.
-With Herrera out of the lineup, our offense really sputters. USC doesn't exactly have a great saturday starter and we looked totally out of sorts after the first few innings.
-Really tough to lose a game on a 2 run homer to a guy hitting .188.
-Really wanted a sweep. Still in good position to make the NCAA tourney as long as we win on sunday. if we lose, then we're in trouble.

Cats ahead 6-1. Lawrence home run, Schwartz drove in two on a single, 3 run double by Bell. Cleaver 1 run through 4. Held them to just one hit and BB so far.

Dam. Really screwed the pooch last night or we'd be tied for 9th in SEC & in good NCAA shape.

Series win.

I think if UK can win 2 more series they will work their way into a regional host.

Really good win and one we had to have. Got the bats going today, and Cleaver was really good until the end. We made it more interesting than I would have liked, but I think we responded with runs every time they scored in the top half.

Would love to have had a sweep, but can't fault the team for taking 2 out of 3. South Carolina did take a series from Ole Miss last weekend and they've been fairly competitive this year despite having a bad record.

At this point winning 4 out of 9 sec games gets UK into the tourney. Winning 5 out of 9 makes us a lock. Win 6 and hosting is in play. Win only 3 and we're on the bubble.

D1 guys are saying 13 gets SEC teams in. Would like more cushion. We have been on the wrong end of that before. As someone said just keep winning.

Would breathe a lot easier with 14 wins! I was critical of the bullpen management Saturday night but thought the staff handled Sundays game well. Trusting Cleaver with bases loaded and no outs in the 6th really paid off. That inning could have been much worse.

Agree with you on 14. I think we probably get in with 13, but don't want to leave it to chance. Another thing worth considering is that UK is currently in 11th place. A&M and Florida are two games back and both are considered NCAA teams right now.

A&M still has LSU, Mizzou, and Georgia. So, assuming they win all three against mizzou, that puts them at 11 wins. They would need to win at least 2 against a really tough LSU / Georgia schedule.

Florida has @USC, @texas, and Alabama remaining. That is TOUGH too. I'm assuming they win 2 out of 3 against USC, lose 3 to Texas, and then win 2 out of 3 against Bama. Is 12 enough to get in?

UK is sitting at 10 wins. I'm assuming winning 2 out of 3 this weekend, winning 2 out of 3 against okie, and then losing 2 out of 3 against vandy. That would be 15 SEC wins which would be a lock for tourney but not enough to host.

IF UK wins all three remaining series, then having a chance to host is back on the table...
