Not much mystery about the teams in the College Football Playoff. Don’t need to wait for the Sunday selection TV show.

LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma.

No one else gets considered after the weekend of Power 5 conference title games.

This may be the best competitive field ever. Three unbeaten teams for the second year in a row and 1-loss Oklahoma.

All that’s left is to determine the pecking order of 1, 2, 3 and 4. Less relevant and impressive than three all-W teams in the CFP pack.

I would bet LSU is #1 because of their dominance over UGA. OSU took a while to get going and trailed for quite a while against a 2-loss Wisconsin.

I see it as 1) LSU - they have the best resume' with wins over Bama and Georgia. 2) OSU - they have the second best resume' with more wins over quality opponents but none as good as LSU's. 3) Clemson - they are the beneficiaries of the weakest schedule in the history of the CFP but they are undefeated and a conference champion so that puts them in over 4) Oklahoma who has one loss.

LSU should win pretty comfortably over OU because OU's defense isn't there yet. It's gotten better but not at the level to win a CFP game.

OSU and Clemson could be a great game. We can only speculate if Clemson can give OSU a game as they haven't really been tested much this year. If OSU jumps on them early will Clemson have the sack to respond? However, is OSU's offense good enough to beat Clemson's defensive speed?

LSU and OSU is the game everyone will be hoping for. Should be a good one.

OU’s defense has been up and down this year, and LSU’s defense has not been fantastic this season. (See Texas.) UGA has the #75th ranked passing offense and was missing half their receivers last night. OU can win if they show up.

I think Clemson has looked the most consistently good the last 8 weeks - which I would have had OSU alongside them with that statement if not for their first half struggle with Wisconsin last night. Clemson appears to be the overall most healthy too, so Clemson might be the team to beat.

Oh yeah. I agree completely. OU can win but I just don't think they will. Their defense hasn't faced an offense that is as complete as LSU's and that well roundedness will be hard to stop for a defense that is as inconsistent as OU's. To add, OU's offense has been up and down for several weeks as well.

As for Clemson, that would be hard to say. I see anyone in the top 4 could say the same if they played Clemson's schedule. Their offense, while still very good, isn't quite what it was last year with the weapons they had. The real question will be the defense who lost quite a bit from last year. Can they stop an offense as well rounded as their own in LSU's or OSU's?

Clemson being the most healthy would play a bigger role if the games were played next week. However, with a few weeks to heal up, all four should be close to full strength. The real question will be who is the healthiest going into the championship game. Look at how that hurt Bama last year losing both starting corners in the UGA game.

It's not about the teams, it's not about what's right either. The OBVIOUS rankings should be
1. LSU
2. Clemson
3. $$$$$$$$
4. Oklahoma
But it wont be, and dont worry E$PN Iis already well into production meetings on how to sell to people that cheaters to the north should be #1. Their unbelievable defense. 250 first half passing yards to meatchicken, 10 yards a carry in the first half to Wisconsin and 21 points, go ahead and sell that sewage. They do it against Clemson or LSU and halftime adjustments mean nothing, because the game is already over. This isn't northwestern and Purdue anymore

4. Clemson.

Oklahoma has a better resume than Clemson who didn't play any strong teams all year.

Seeding OU 4th makes it that much more difficult for the BIG 12 to advance--you are going to have to play the top rated team right off the bat as usual.

But with four teams its going to be a battle no matter who you play. Hopefully OU will be up to the task this year.

Take it from an ancient sportswriter:

LSU will destroy Oklahoma, which has a Swiss cheese pass defense and good pass defenses have been buried by Joe Burrow.

Ohio State will destroy Clemson, which will be facing its first quality opponent in 2019.

LSU will beat Ohio State in a game that should be a classic!!!

Did you watch Oklahoma last night vs Baylor? About as aggressive as they have ever been. If LSU beats OU it won’t be because OU has no defense, it will be because LSU is just better on offense.

Hurts has prepared for LSU the last three years at Alabama, so OU will have that advantage as Hurtz already knows how to attack the even weaker than usual LSU defense.

Is that you, Dabo? Clemson doesn't have a chance? LOL The Vegas line is Clemson +1.
Im not surprised that Clemson is favored. They have really turned it up a notch the last few weeks. The majority of people want to see someone else besides Clemson win it. If Clemson beats OSU and beats them fairly convincingly they will be favored to beat the Oklahoma LSU winner.

Good shot! I like people with a clever way with words. I'm sticking with LSU and Ohio State, once the Buckeyes toy with the opponent as usual to make them think they have a chance before dismantling them, to have their way. And LSU to beat Ohio State. Clemson will make it closer than Oklahoma will, score-wise. But Burrow has worked too hard and waited too long for this. His passes are like lasers coming from a calm, smart quarterback. It's like playing a video game for Burrow. Ohio State will just out-muscle Clemson. From Syracuse to Virginia, Clemson ain't seen nothing like it yet. So Clemson beat North Carolina State. Hell, WVU did THAT during one of its worst seasons this century!
