Dont think it is so straight forward. Zion was supposedly the poster child for NCAA costing kids a fortune and being a waste of time.
Well, let's see.

Zion
ssid it was the best year of his life.

He went from not being considered at all for #1 pick to #1 pick. That's some nice extra cash. How much?, we will never know. Would he have been top 3, top 5??

He signed the biggest shoe deal ever for a rookie. Once again, his year at Duke put millions in his pocket. Would he have gotten a good deal right out of HS, sure. But not nearly ss much and not for nearly as long.

So un-American to have to prove your worth/"earn" your money.

Zion will make that money that he could’ve earned by going pro straight from high school back in 6 months. He’s an advertising executive dream client. He will make more $ with advertisements than anyone since Tiger and that’s not including his shoe contract $.

There’s going to be a catch to the new CBA if they get rid of the one and done. People forget that the player’s union is the one that came up with this to protect older players amongst other things. It’s going to be very interesting. I think they should only let the top 10 prospects declare. Everyone else two and done.

I’m curious where Zion would have been drafted straight out of high school.. I could easily see most NBA teams wanting RJ and Cam over Zion out of high school.. I think Zion could have slipped as low as the 5th pick.

He would have been in the 3-7 range. I remember when he got injured during the All-Star event practices a lot of draft gurus dropped him.
Ironically the consensus top 3 for a while was RJ, Cam, Nas "Roy won't play me" Little.
