Just read that this is the first final four without a single McDonald's All-American ... since 1979.

The other Mountain West teams should be thanking SDSU for bringing home the bacon to the conference, both publicity and millions in cash.

This has been a joy ride for San Diegians, the whole town is excited as the Aztecs have advanced. You can’t say it hasn’t been a topsy-turvy tournament with top seeds getting knocked out in upset after upset, with maybe Bama being the paramount example. (Well maybe #1 Purdue face planting again in the Big Dance against #16.) It has been a new order this year, refreshing to see different teams breaking through and busting brackets. The Aztecs have shown you can beat top teams with a stifling defense even if you don’t have the most potent offense. It’s been a very physical tournament for them that has played to their strengths of experience and bench depth. Go Aztecs!

Highest seed in final four a 4. Not sure there has ever been a case of NO 1 or 2 seeds in final 4. Only one 2 seed in elite 8.

They are tough. Really, really tough. I understand most people prefer higher scoring games. But I enjoyed watching their physicality as much as I enjoyed the uber confidence and offensive aggressiveness of FAU

TV ratings throughout this tournament have been very strong. People like underdogs! Something new is good. It's healthy for the event. It affirms why fans of every school should keep watching and supporting their teams throughout the whole marathon that is college basketball. This is good!!!

FAU - Dominant champion of the 10the best conference.
SDSU - Dominant champion of the 8th best conference.
Miami - Co-champion of the 6th best conference.

UConn - was ranked #2 in country before losing 6 of 8 games in the Big East between 12/31 and 1/25. Re-grouped and finished season 9-2.

The only people angry about this year's Final Four teams are glamor program jock-sniffing pundits and fans of name programs that think deep tournament runs are their birthright. We dealt with a few of those this year who just couldn't fathom losing to Northwestern.

If the games are as close and interesting as most have been so far, the audience will hang with them. Curiosity factor should get an initial tune-in, but the teams have to deliver. I wish K-State was still in it because I thought Nowell was the most exciting player in the whole tourney. The KSU-MSU game was an instant classic.
