Time to give CCC some credit for in game moves. Substitution pattern was great. The little switch to 2-3 zone caught then off guard and was used just enough to not get exposed. Keeping in Boo when he was hot seems like a no brainer, but we all know how he has reacted with young guys playing time. NU even got some very easy layoffs against pressure. CCC has noticeably toned down his barking after mistakes.

IMO, NU will still have some putrid games due to their youth, but at least when we tune in, we just may see that next step by a young team. Also, the guys that transferred would have a difficult time getting in this rotation.

he did bark less, good observation. this team is more encouraging than expected, but we will have plenty of ups and downs in big ten play--hopefully a few wins in there.

I agree on the putrid games.

What I'm started to notice is that when they play a good team and are up, and the opponent makes a run, these NU guys don't fold and don't get flustered. They manage the lead until the end. Will be interesting to see how that works in conference.
