Until recently, I have not paid a great deal of attention to the CFP Committee, specifically, the people who are members. Now that the possibility of OU being considered??? I started digging deeper. I'm not happy with what I found. I'm not familiar with all of them, but some of the ones whose names I do recognize don't strike me as being OU Friendly. In fact, there seem to be a few who have every reason NOT to do us any favors.

Check out their resumes. Perhaps I'm too biased to make good opinions of them. Tyrone Willingham and Condi are Domers and Willingham is presently coaching golf at Stanford...Clemson has a rep...Oliver Luck represents the Big XII...I hope he fights for the Sooners rather than Stanford. Pat Haden was not replaced when he resigned, earlier this year, leaving a 12 person committee. See for yourselves!

I know, it looks like the impossible dream but, we win out and I really think we we'll get the rewards.

Then, of course my fall back consolation at the very worst would probably be the schlep Fiesta Bowl. GTGFU*.

*got that going for us:p

I must admit that they aren't people that I would invite over for an evening of intellectual discussion.

I maybe in the minority, but I blame TCU, OSU and especially Baylor for not scheduling top flight programs in the out of conference games.

Schedule like KSU of the past and this is what we get...........

Big X is represented well with Osborne and Alvarez - defensive minded coaches - which might be a good thing as well for the SEC. And, EVERYONE knows well - if you listen to the biased ESPN - that the SEC and the Big X are the college kings of defense.

The SEC and the Big X want nothing to do with quality spread offenses. Might make the road for OU difficult.

If a one loss OU team can’t make the playoff you can bet that Boren will receive a very significant amount of new pressure from a sizable majority of OU’s big money people to get OU out of the Big 12…

I hope we can avoid it, but it would be a full out revolt.

Nothing to do now except to wait until after the OSU game. I won't be surprised if there aren't more shake ups coming that will make the committee's decision easier.

I agree. There are 5 teams ahead of us w/ 3 games a piece to be played. That's 15 opportunities to effect a change. That's a lot of football.

Agree. Had dinner with a colleague last night that attended ND. I shared my "opinions" on how I thought things were going to work out...if we win out that we're "in". We had a LIVELY conversation as you might expect. ;)

On a side note about the sec and big 10. Today I heard on the local radio here in arkieland a former hog turned radio show host said that arkie fans want a big 10 team in a bowl game and not a big 12 team because they play similar styles of football and would match up better. Also saw in the paper the piggies hc wants there to be some type of big 10 sec matchups during the reg season replacing cupcakes across the board for every team in both leagues. I find this funny because just a short while ago most sec fans thought the big 10 was weak and not worthy of playing an sec team. They also said on the radio here today that while OU did beat baylor, we did it when Baylors starting qb was out and that baylor had not played anyone previously. I feel the CFC probably thinks that as well. I think we will need a lot of help to get in but it all stats with helping ourselves this weekend. Lose and its all for naught.

Was that Bo Mattingly or Randy Rainwater? Then again it could have been the guy is on the air with their old QB Matt Jones. That is a man that hates the B12 and goes off on rants out of thin air about the conference.

It was David Bazzel, local hog loud mouth former player, looks like frankenstein and is originally from Florida.

Okay that makes a lot of sense. He is a legend in his own mind that's for sure.
Yep, you pegged it! Saw him at a bar in west LR years ago, back in like 92 and he was being a jerk to anyone and everyone. A never was that was never all that good except in his own mind. They also were harping on some arkie basketball player that chose kentucky over the piggies yesterday. Piggie fans were taking to social media bashing the youngster. They mentioned losing Keith Jackson to OU but they said at least he came back to arkansas to live. Lord help me I need to move outta here lol.

Condi Rice spent almost all of her academic life at Stanford. Don't know where the Domer reference is coming from.

This is from the Link @ the top of this post...And now, you know!

Condoleezza Rice is a former Secretary of State and national security advisor. She's now a professor at Stanford. Rice was Provost at Stanford from 1993-99, where she oversaw the athletics department and its budget, recruiting, coaching personnel and bowl appearances. Rice also was on the board of directors at Notre Dame (1994-2000), where she earned her Master's Degree in 1975.

Remember when Bielema and Saban advocated for the banning of the spread after OU embarrassed Bama in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago.

Again, the SEC and B10 want NOTHING to do with a quality spread offense. Their pro-style defenses have no solution for the spread. The deck may already be stacked against OUr Sooners.

Losers.

The Committee is a joke. I hear discussions of OU losing to UT hurting them as a bad loss, yet tOSU lost at home last year 35-21 to a Va. Tech Team that ended the season 6-6. Then you have this year, Iowa moving up from 9 to 5 after barely beating Indiana and then having TCU drop this week from 15 to 18 after win. This really hurts OU as if they beat TCU this weekend, there is a chance TCU drops from the Top 25 (obviously pending other results). When using the eye test, OU is currently playing like a Top 4 Team and I have yet to see that from tOSU and ND's best win is Navy. Should OU run the table, they should get a shot. There is a lot of season left and teams in front still have tough games so it should be interesting.

Give me the bcs top ranked 6 teams and let humans pick 2 at large teams and do an 8 team playoff. I knew as soon as humans were going to pick the 4 teams that was a mistake. Nobody can be objective and not let their bias affect them. Nobody. It has turned into a joke in only it's second year. Fire them all.

Well Ive been here in central Arkansas now since 88 and I love the state despite the few idiots like Bazzell , Mattingly etc. etc.

I wouldnt let them get under your skin to much because Im yet to listen to any Arkansas sports radio show that has a clue of anything not named SEC.

I think more and more folks are starting to realize this very thing. Until CFB gets rid of allowing humans to select the teams then everything is still going to be mythical.

Only in CFB do we get champions named by a group of people or have them tell us who they "THINK" are the 4 best teams.

Win your dang conference and include all conference champs or split up the G5 from the P5 and at least allow those teams to compete for a championship in their own group.

I would have thought Condi Rice's tenure in the Bush administration would have converted her to a "bombs away" philosophy and thus made a Big XII offense preferable.

In addition to which, I thought I read somewhere that she had retired from the selection committee because she didn't know jack about football. No?

Since when is knowing 'Jack, about Football' a requirement for this Joke of a Committee? Many were outraged at Condi's appointment, and were very outspoken against her, but to no avail...

It would be nice to see the committe allow reporters into the room to report on how and what really goes on in that room. That isnt happening though because then they might actually have to do what they say they do.

For god sakes, people. This woman was once the United States Secretary of State. Does anyone really think anyone that has held that position in our government would allow their personal preferences sway their vote??

Just remember that Arkansas lost at home to Tech and to Toledo. Then they put together a four game win streak in the conference against the SEC West.

Ole Miss lost to Memphis, which gave all kinds of props to Memphis. Then since, the Tigers lost two straight. Maybe three after Temple tomorrow.

The SEC is more than a little overrated this season. Alabama is as good as they got and they are no better than OU. They play their breather this week.

I just hope that FSU beats Florida 10 or more, so that we do not have to hear how great Bama is if they beat them.

It would be fine with me if the Hogs ran the table. Tech is their worst loss. Maybe the 7th place team in the XII.
