Anyone watching any of the group stages? If so who ya think looks good? To me FC Bayern is just wayyyyy too good. I think Real Madrid and PSG could give them a run but Bayern's attack with Costa, Lewandowski, Robben, Götze and Vidal is just too much.

And you left out Muller, who is probably the best of the bunch. Yeah, I definitely think this is Bayern's year. Barcelona looks off, and Messi is injured. Real Madrid is right there though, but Bayern is just overwhelming teams right now, and on a different level. Man City could sneak in a Semifinal appearance if Silva stays healthy, but not sure about their overall firepower. Ultimately, it will come down to Bayern, Real Madrid, or Barcelona again.

First level -

Bayern
Real Madrid
Barcelona

Second level -

Man City
Man Utd
Atletico Madrid
PSG
Juventus

Chelsea should be in this Second Level but they are a complete trainwreck this season. And Arsenal should be as well, but they won't make it out of the group stage.

In General I agree with this, but PSG can be sneaky and get up to Bayern, Barca and RM. They are playing at an extremely high level. Cavani, Zlatan, Matuidi, Lavezzi is in from and Di Maria is returning to form as well. They can hang with anyone.

As an Arsenal fan I am soo friggin disappointed in Arsenal. I have no idea why Cech hasn't been in goal for any of these games and I think its time for Wenger to go.... Chelsea is a dumpster fire and Man City is too inconsistent.

Can we get a catch-all soccer thread? I feel like there are three floating around somewhere.

Anyway. Bayern all the way.

I honestly thought Douglas Costa was just going to come in and ride the pine, maybe feature in a few cup games but he has actually made them even better which is SCARY!

U23 Olympic Qualifying started tonight. USA beat Canada 3-1. Tons of young talent on the US roster including Zelalem, Hyndman, Carter-Vickers, Jordan Morris ect. It was on NBC Universo tonight only available in spanish as far as I know.

Arsene can get lost.

Tired of this same BS every GD year.

I'd love to get rid of Wenger for Jurgen Klopp. Dude is everything Arsen isnt....Young, energetic, great at improving defense and is a great coach. I believe he took Bros Dortmund to 2 titles while he was there and damn near won the Champions League once. I say dumb Wenger asap and take him....beat Liverpool to the punch.

Of couse they would...I couldn't belive when I checked the score and saw 3-0.
Maybe Arsenal has its scoring combination down with Ozel, Alexis and Theo.

Man U way too slow in the midfield for Arsenal. When we click, it's sooo fun to watch. I really like the combo we have right now of Ozil, Sanchez, Theo and even Cazorla up front. Early I think the problem was we brought Sanchez back too early. I actually get what Wenger is saying now with the whole not needing another pure striker, but rather a midfielder that also score...that way you can't key on 1 guy and 1 injury doesn't kill you.

Look at Bayern, PSG, Man City, Real Madrid...yes they have some world class strikers but they also have great midfielders to take pressure off strikers. Bayern has Mueller, Gotze, Costa - PSG has Di Maria, Lavezzi, Mathis - Man City has De Bruyne, Toure, Silva.....

Come Ja uary I hope we look at a Midfielder to replace Ramsey....maybe Payet from West Ham or Mahrez from Leicester.... we get that and a backup/ holding midfielder for Coquelin and we can challenge City.

To have just played "Mediocre" and be in 2nd nipping at the heels of Man City says a lot. And our next 7 games are against bottom tier teams of the table. We could rack some points up should we play well. I'm anxious to see the game against Bayern....we will be their 1st challenge this year. Hopefully we can pull off a shocker. We have to in order to advance from group play.

Bayern is a cut above right now. Douglas Costa is the best midfielder in the world.

After that I'd tab Real Madrid as the clear second best team right now but their attacking play really seems static without Bale/Rodriguez to facilitate things. Barcelona, even when Messi was healthy, just seem really disorganized particularly in the back four. I watched Celta Vigo absolutely shred them on counters a couple weeks back.

Other contenders: PSG, Juventus, Man City

Looks like Liverpool is going to get Jurgen Klopp... that dude could turn them around. He took Dortmund from nothing to a 3-time Bundesliga champ and a Champions League runner up. The dude is really good.
