Slater is out for this game on reserve for Covid. Let’s hope Jackson and Gaz can contribute. Herbert led the Chargers win last week, a good example of a qb making a difference in fending off the opponent’s comeback. His 60+ yd td toss last game was amazing. Should be a fun game to watch.

Really enjoy watching Hebert play. Made a great play on that second TD to avoid the sack and make the throw.

EDIT: Hebert blew a sure TD on that last possession. That throw sailed on him as he drops his elbow in an effort to take some juice off the throw. His hand gets under the ball, and it sails high. Mechanics matter.

He doesn't have Marcus Allen's speed, but his running style is so similar, just never gets really hit, always seems like he slides off everyone.

I was going to comment how Kelce was not quite the threat he was a few years ago. Never mind.

Justin Jackson: Tied for 34th in all-time rushing for the Chargers. Among running backs with 900 or more career rushing yards for the Chargers, JJTBC is ranked #2 in average per carry.

Loved it. The level of competition was like playoffs. Game could have gone either way until KC finally won it.

Herbert is a barrruuuutte - played even with Mahomes.

The Chargers like their other backs more than JJTBC - I'm guessing Ekeler and Kelly are a half step faster - but NU knows that you win a lot when JJTBC plays and here's hoping he continues to get his PT. Another nice game from JJTBC.

I don’t think Kelley saw the field after his fumble. JJTBC never puts the ball on the ground.

They also have Larry Rountree, a rookie from Missouri, who is promising. JJ may have to get his next contract elsewhere, but he has shown his value in the League.

Honestly, watching the Chargers twice a year (when they play the Chefs), I am mystified as to why Jackson doesn't get more carries. He just never gets hit and always gains at least a yard.

Injury-prone, probably related to him never being hurt at NU. Seemingly every time he gets a chance.

Does an exceptional job in pass-pro as well.

SMH..a whole thread about the Chiefs/Chargers game, and no one mentions the biggest NU tie-in of all: that Patrick Mahomes' QB coach is NU legend Mike Freaking Kafka.

There can be no doubt whatsoever in the mind of any knowledgeable observer that Mahomes' all-world talents can largely be credited to the wise tutelage of a Northwestern Man.

I don’t know that I can agree about JJ not being a favorite back- JJ was listed as the #2 back during pre-season but was injured early on. Ekeler is the #1 back. He’s incredibly fit and strong for his size but he has been getting pounded as the primary back and has been also prone to injury. JJ has performed well for the Chargers but he also has missed many opportunities for more playing time because of injuries that have kept him out of games. Hopefully after his performance against the Chiefs he will see the field more often the rest of the season, if he can stay healthy.

I guess I meant that Ekeler is their clear #1, not that they don't like JJ.

Maybe, maybe not, no need to be a dick about it. It was posted in the excitement of the moment and was meant to illustrate the excitement if the game.
I wasn’t being a dick. Geez, hop on the humor train. It’s leaving the station. All aboard!!!!
