Miami has 5 days to match and would essentially need to determine if he's worth the extra $600k per yr (avg) that the offer will cost them vs. the transition tag # they already committed to. Big Play Clay getting ready to hit the Big Pay Day!

Very happy for Charles. Also happy he's out of Miami. Have always liked the Bills. (i know that Miami will not be matching FYI).

It isn't just as simple as 600K per year. Buffalo's offer is $38 million over 5 years, which averages out to 7.6 mil./year. Miami's ONE YEAR contract offer was for 7 mil., due to them putting the transition tag on him. Miami had not offered Charles a 5 year contract at 7 mil./year. Also, Buffalo structured the contract to be very front loaded, so Miami would have to take a big hit against their salary cap the next 2 years to match the offer. I will be surprised if Miami matches.

According to ESPN he is already looking for a place to live in Buffalo.

Congrats Charles; Buffalo Bound with a bunch of cash waiting for you in Bills Country.

New ownership, they have been bringing in some key position players, they will be good.
