Webster see's Herman in his rear view mirror. 2 or 3 more losses and 2* Chaaalie will be updating his resume.

I think Bedford is getting ready to be the latest scapegoat. dfw is correct. They all thought Charlie was a defensive genius. Texas fans claimed Charlie was some kind of mastermind. The statesman in Austin called his coaching staff a revolving door. 7 in 2 years replaced.

Except it's not funny because Bob isn't looking to make changes.
No but his staff has the mark of the "revolving door" the past few years. And also Bob was considered one of the top defensive minds in college football when he was hired, and here we are in a position of complaining about an awful defense and debating whether Bob will ever get rid of his DC cuz it's his brother...

Come to think of it...the defensive side of the ball at OU right now sounds like a frikin reality TV show.....

Still not finding funny. Coach Webster is looking to make changes. Bad Game Bob isn't. Not amused.

Bob's history with coaches has shown he is not the kind of guy to panic in the middle of the season to make changes. Only after the season will changes be made. Sadly, it will be too late for this team by then as it appears the D is the weak link. I hope I'm wrong, but we're looking at a 7-5 or 6-6 season with this D.

I'm not at all impressed with this squad thus far, but I haven't seem any other B12 team that I feel OU can't beat so I'm not thinking 5 losses right now. If I were to bet I'd probably go at 8 or 9 wins, but that's just history thinking on my part. Next game is going to be huge. If we beat TCU then the Texas game will be even bigger. And so on and so on. Lose to either TCU or Texas....then forget about it. It will really tough for Bob not to have his poorest season given all the hype this team got in the preseason.

Firing anyone this season should not happen. Firing Bob would be a big mistake in my opinion. I don't think that will happen. The recruits don't need to hear about instability in the staff. Oklahoma TV fans won't influence decisions in the program.
I'm a tv fan, but I sure wouldn't fire Bob if I had a say.

Mid season changes are not the answer, IMO... I don't believe Bob Stoops is the problem either, although I do feel he has some very difficult decisions to make... He's made them before though...

Then you aren't amused. That's cool with me.
I'm just playing around with the thought that Stoops won't make changes but that mediocre 2 losing season UT coach will. Not really "not amused." Just sad...

I'm not looking for Bob to fire anyone during the season. But for the love of all things holy, do something Bob! What will happen when Texas, Baylor, TCU, and OSU decide to run offenses that aren't like Big 12 offenses?

I'm right on board with you here. That was rather disturbing to hear Mike actually say that.

I think the author of that article over assumed when he said Strong was considering staff changes. Bedford is his boy that he has protected come hell or high water and after getting rid of 3 playcallers in 3 years on offense I doubt he's looking to present his staff as anymore unstable than it has been. If a change was made I would think it would be at the end of the year but like I said, that's his boy...

Well, seeing that Charlie Strong is the one who said he was considering defensive staff changes, I think the writer was right on...

I guess I missed the part where it says he's considering staff changes?? It says he's going to evaluate and get more involved. I think it's lip service and Bedford goes nowhere. If Strong's team went 6-6 for 2 years in a row and his D finished ranked 107th last year and is giving up a lot of yards this year, and there hasn't already been a change at DC, color my skeptical.

Lincoln Riley and the offense is s much bigger concern at this point. The offense was supposed to carry the offense the first month. I'm sure both sides of the ball will be fine the rest of the season since the Big 12 is so bad on D

This is the most surprising and frustrating part. You see the NewsOK article which quoted Riley as saying the offense is 'almost there?' That really gave me a WTF feeling.
