He's learned I believe.

And he was humbled by Texas.

And at this moment I'm not looking forward to playing them. I hope my view gets changed.

Soon.

To be honest, Charlie left us to go to his dream job (a state school with big time tradition in football and a statewide following, always drawing huge crowds)only to realize that his window was going to be short, high pressure and relying on recruits that the diminishing career of Mack Brown left. Tom Herman is also inheriting the remnants of Coach Strong’s lackluster recruiting while in Austin.

He had a similar situation here as far as a talent lapse in recruiting but had almost a situation that could only go upwards and unconditional support from Tom Jurich.

As far as the so called “Sleeping Giant” of South Florida athletics goes, its fans are pathetic for a University that size.

I’ll still bet that Charlie wishes he could go back to 2013 but he also seems to be doing okay at USF. I wish him well and appreciate what he did here.

He had classes ranked- 20,11,12 in his three years there so he had talent and Tom Herman’s took that talent and has under performed so far.

It’s not all about recruiting rankings. You have to recruit players that fit your system. Strong and Herman have very different coaching philosophies

My issues with Charlie had nothing to do with leaving for Texas. Nor was it a shock he had it so bad here he couldn’t wait to leave. What made me mad is the way he left his players..... it was cowardly. I do wish him the best because he did do great things for us.

After SuCk beat UF last night it might not be long before he finally ends up at UF.

Give Dan Mullen 2 years to recruit and UF will be just fine. He inherited a mess. He left the cupboard pretty full at MSU....big, physical team that scores some points!!

Charlie would have been fine at Texas if JR Ewing etc had let Charlie be Charlie. Win every game 13-7 with strong defense, tap fine MILFs, lift weights, and go home. I knew it was over for him when they forced a high-tempo offensive coordinator on him that last year.
