That story is so ridiculous, it's hilarious. I went to another ACC school undergrad and covered sports for the school paper--I covered most of the basketball games. One other ACC coach (MD's coach at the time) was always a d**k (in my opinion)--though maybe he just hated the press (particularly student journalists).
Another ACC coach was simply amazing in terms of how he always made time for me (a student at another school), was patient and very thoughtful with all of my questions, and always was incredibly kind, respectful, and generous in sharing his thoughts and insights, though he obviously owed me nothing (I had no idea at the time that I would later earn a degree from his school and made no suggestion of that to him). That coach was Mike Krzyzewski. I think nearly all folks here already know that he's the real deal, though if anyone else doubts it, there it is. True story. When I later enrolled at Duke, I already felt right at home.
