Those jazz guys are on another planet.

I just saw Duffy Jackson at a little jazz club in Nashville last weekend- Rudy's.

He's played drums for all the biggies: Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Geroge Benson, etc. He's 65 yrs old. Very similar style to Buddy (he played with him also).

He KILLED it with his little 3 piece kit; drums, guitar, and B3. It was glorious!

Has there every been anything more boring, hackneyed and so 70's as the drum solo? Good lord, I couldn't take more than 15 seconds of those videos. I love a good drummer but he needs to be playing a song and with a band. Not just banging the skins. Feel the same way about guitar players noodling for multiple minutes - play a friggin song!
