Wow, Stoops is all mouth!
To be fair, Stoops first class not counting Jucos, will be Seniors this season. I guess none of them were good enough to test the water after their junior season. Another season under Stoops will make a big difference. Lol

It's one thing to get a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits. It's quite another to develop them into players the NFL will draft. So many kids get lost in the shuffle at the powerhouse SEC programs. Granted they do produce a significant number of draftees but how many others get buried on a depth chart and then get passed by another 5 star coming up behind them.

Meanwhile Petrino, and Strong before him, took the talent they recruited and got the most out of them.

Whats ul ?

Its UofL. Get it right.
Didnt mean to poke you in the face, little fella.

I mean getting 10 five stars drafted in the first round is the greatest day in

It's because the ACC doesn't suck, contrary to the $EC belief.

And our recent squads do have something uk doesn't.......

a WINNING record against $EC opponents. ;)

Exactly...last I checked the ACC Atlantic Division has two of the Top 5 teams in the country the past 2 years...with just as many if not more NFL Draft picks...only SEC Alabama and the B1G Ohio State is just as good as those two teams...it is what it is

UL has definitely had a bunch of talent come through the doors in the last couple years. With that, I have a question...I'd be interesting in hearing a prediction from UL fans as to how many UL players get drafted in the next two years?

Fields, Kelsey, Brown, and JHC are almost givens unless they take major step backwards next year. Beyond that, who do you think has NFL potential in your Soph, Junior and Senior classes? I see Wiggins, Quick, and Staples as legit possibilities. and Maybe one of the JC Tight Ends...

Be interesting to makes some predictions now and check back after a couple of draft classes

Honestly don't see a huge class in 2016-2017...now some of the Freshman like Christian, Jackson, Robinson and Alexander will be interesting to follow the next few years

UK fans can't seem to realize that no matter how many stars a player has he has to be developed in college to have a shot at a pro career. This time last year the worry on UK's board was if Towles would leave after his Jr. year for the NFL. Petrino has a pretty good track record of getting guys ready for the league.

So with all of these draft picks you are saying you still can't finish better than 3rd in your division?

UofL has won every conference that they have been a member of and no doubt they will be ACC conference champions.UofK being a founding member of the sec is listed as one of the few who has never even played in a conference championship game. pitiful

Petrino can clearly develop players. but the talent has to be there to make it in the NFL. That's why i'm curious who you think on the team are the next round of NFL draft picks beyond the current Juniors who stayed.

Stoops has developed talent everywhere he has been. The issue with him is whether he will grow into an in game coach when the pressure is on. there were obviously some very glaring bad decisions last year and the team lacked discipline(see our DEnd letting Jackson run 17 times when he was clearly the guy you had to stop).

As far as Towles, I thought he sucked as a sophmore and expected more of the same in his Junior year. He was a good kid with a very limited ceiling as a QB.

The three young Olinemen could definitely grow into NFL players. Jackson is an NFL talent, but i don't think it will be at QB. I think he will end up at DB or WR like the Auburn QB did. I think its a bit early to predict anything from Robinson given he has never taken a college snap. Alexander looks like a player though. Very shifty as a return man. Maybe Hearns or Thomas will grow into NFL players....could be the next Dubose or Smith's that came from off the radar to the NFL.

TPE, what do you think of Quick's chances in the pro's? I don't really know what to think of his game and how it translates to the NFL. Is he a slot or split out wide at that level? Doesn't seem to be physical enough to be split out wide.

HAHAHA..I can't believe how little some know about the rich history of Kentucky football! We own TWO SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS!! We barely trail Tulane (3)and Georgia Tech(5) in SEC titles. We run with the Big Dogs!!!

Man, you're sure on the draft list kick. The 4 guys you named, all of whom are returning, would seem to be shoo-ins as draft picks. Isn't that enough? Are you mining for "absurd UofL expectations"?

OK, then - let me help: I think Wiggins will definitely get a look. Hikutini is our only Juco TE as far as I know. Crum, who is a prototype NFL TE was a redshirt freshman last season so he won't be eligible until next year and Towbridge will definitely see a camp although he may not be drafted.

Quick will see a camp. I actually expect he will also be drafted, as certainly Staples will be.

2017 should be fairly rich. Peete and Jaylen Smith show every sign you would ever want to see as offensive weapons who play football the way it is supposed to be played. Peete was a star on special teams all season, not too bad for a 6' 6" WR prospect who made key catches all season in his true freshman year.

The special benefits Louisville will carry forward would include Jackson being overlooked as a run-only QB which would warrant playing his senior year with something to prove. Trevon Samuel and our punt returner who happens to play some excellent cornerback are both considered very small by NFL standards, which could mean they return for their senior seasons as well. I have a super hard time seeing the downside of this for Louisville.

None of this relates to the mysteries of the O line and the prospects there, nor does it deal with Treveon Young, the leading sack artist this past season currently working with a hip issue. The linebacker who replaces Burgess had a monstrous game against A & M.

So next season, maybe 6-9 guys get drafted. The followng season is a bit harder to judge - but I would imagine 6 more, lol.
