Chicago Bars (NW game)

I'm flying out to Chicago the weekend of the NW game (9/30-10/4). The original plan was to get tickets to the game, but the asking price is a little too spicy for me. Now I'm looking for recommendations for a PSU bar to watch the game from.

Also, any recommendations for a first timer to Chicago?

Their web site does had a lot of info about what's taking place the weekend of the PSU - NW game, though there does seem to be a focus on attending the game. You should check their web site the week of the game to make sure they are holding their TV viewing parties for the NW game:

The Art Institute of Chicago is the greatest American art museum. Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, American Gothic, Nighthawks. On their site map they have a Highlights guide so you can see all the good stuff in 90 minutes. It has my favorite Picasso too!

If art isn’t your thing the Field Museum of Natural History is well worth a visit.

Everyone knows American Gothic. It leaves an impression when it’s right in front of you.

I really have no idea what other people’s likes and dislikes are, but art museums are pretty much my top bliss, other than a PSU National Championship, of course. The wife has a college reunion in Jacksonville IL this weekend and we’re flying into St Louis and we’re visiting the SLAM, has the best collection of German Expressionists in the country, blows me away.

My wife will be busy doing reunion committee work so I’ve been thinking of going to the FLW Dana-Thomas House in Springfield. I will be visiting my in-laws at Camp Butler National Cemetery, in the eastern outskirts of Springfield, so I might as well go.

For beer drinkers many Chicago bars are either or. They either sell Budweiser products or the sell miller products but not both. Just fyi in case you are a Bud lite drinker and wonder into a Miller only bar
