If you were to take those noodles and then bust them into thousands of tiny pieces to where no piece was more than a quarter inch..then put them in a jar with a lid and use them when you make some vegetable soup or something like that...

I’m calling on the Paddock food experts to weigh in on this debate.

Barley corn makes a good drinkable tea... Take about a half gallon of water and a good handful of barley corn, bring the water to a boil and then simmer it for about five to ten minutes. You can drink it hot or cold. It's a good drink...

Chili doesn't have noodles. If it has noodles, it's spaghetti.

2 lbs ground beef
3 cans red kidney beans
1 large onion diced
1 can petite diced tomatoes
1 can Rotel with Habaneros
1 pack of chili seasoning of your choice
1 can of tomato sauce
Enough tomato juice to get the consistency you like, I like mine thick.
That's chili.

I grew up with noodles in my chili, but mom always kept them separate and I do that with mine. My chili can stand on its own without noodles but if somebody wants them so be it.

Also, I never use a pack of chili seasoning, that’s cheating. Then all your doing is making “seasoning brand of your choice” chili. If you can’t season it up with a combo of your own seasonings then your taking the easy way out. My chili also has a variety of diced peppers mixed in.

You lose the right to gatekeep chili from noodles if you’re putting beans in it too.

I put black and kidney beans in mine and cook a little macaroni on the side to get a few more bowls out of it. But it’s all irrelevant because I’m loading it with cheese and crackers.

It's chili, not a gourmet meal. Want to mix your own seasoning, fill free. When I have them fresh in the summer, I'll chop up about half of a Jalapeno pepper and add it for a little extra kick.

I like chili. Yes. Hot take here but my grandmas chili sucked. But we were poor then. Poor ppls food usually sucks. Every single recipe here seems awesome. Its chili. Just like boobs, chili can come in all sorts of varieties and still be awesome because boobs are awesome.

Mom put noodles in a thin IMO bland chili. I hate noodles in chili, it's a texture thing of them being overcooked and slimy.

Made a crockpot of chili w/beans today. Cornbread > Noodles

Both

Cook it without noodles. Eat it with lots of different types of beans, meat, seasonings, etc. Serve with shredded cheddar, chopped onions, sour cream, and Fritos instead of crackers.

The next day make spaghetti and reheat your chili with shredded cheddar on top.

The following day turn it into a taco salad.

Other than Thanksgiving, chili is the best leftover food because you can do so many different things with it.

No noodles, chunks of peppers and onions, at least two cans of beans, and hot enough to cause a runny nose. Putting cheese in it is like putting ketchup on a steak. A dollop of sour cream is acceptable.

Also, I like Cincinnati for everything except that weird brown paste they call chili. I can't add enough onions to kill the nasty taste.

In reading the comments I not only learned something (spaghetti is called noodles) but I found people put them in their chili. I have never thought of doing such a thing.

Noodles in my culture are things you put in broth such as chicken or beef. We call it chicken and noodles and beef and noodles. Never thought of putting a red sauce over noodles much less in my chili.

Now if I did call spaghetti, noodles, I still wouldn't want it in my chili. CHILI stands alone and does not require any pasta, no matter what you call it. On a nice cool Saturday with footballs flying in the air a bowl of chili and a bottle of hot sauce is hard to beat. But to each his own.

Y'all probably wouldn't like my staple food of rice and tomato gray. But I wouldn't want to live without it.

I always put noodles in my chili (cooked separate and add to your liking)...Not spaghetti though but rather a smaller noodle like macaroni which can fit on the spoon...I only eat my chili with fritos as well not crackers...cheese and a dollop of sour cream also.

I’m not turning down chili with or without noodles.

If I must have a noodle in it though it can only be macaroni. Anything else is inconvenient for a spoon

I think chili is a dish you can make with whatever you want. Ground meat, stew meat, beans, no beans, cheese, sour cream, noodles or not. Who cares. Good chili hits the spot and bad chili sucks! I just hate it when someone makes it so hot you can’t enjoy it. What’s the point?

It’s no surprise that the area of the country must known for spaghetti in chili is also a fan of sausage cut with oatmeal/sawdust.

Nothing in this post is correct.

Cincinnati doesn't put spaghetti in its chili. It pours chili over top of spaghetti when it creates a 3-way (chili, cheese, spaghetti), 4-way (add onion or beans) or 5-way (onions and beans). I personally do not eat Cincinnati style chili unless it is served over spaghetti, in a chillito or on a chili dog.

You can still get thicker, non Cincy style chili without the noodles, even texas style, at just as many restaurants as you can in other places.

And Cincinnati has some of the best sausage in the world. It is freaking Porkopolis for fux sake. It was built on Sausage.

Goetta is a completely different thing. And its awesome.

And there isn't any sawdust in it, you uncivilized rube.

I hope you learned something today and will stop spreading fake news.
