best thing to do when the whole world is crumbling...start another war

actually i tend to think it's just the Chinese way of deflecting their mess within their country.

America always thought it would be one of the players in a nuclear conflict but that may not be the case. Pakistan and India almost nuked it out in the 90's before the Clinton Administration was able to cool everyone off.

Of course this is happening. We’ve got an isolationist president who has empowered our enemies. Same with Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Turkey and Russia. It’s not a distraction from China’s policies. It’s a capitalization on our own failings.

Meeting with Kim first and foremost. All he did was empower a look and gave him the stage and leverage. Pulling out of the TPP empowered Xi to fill the void. Aligning with Mohdi, Edeogan and MBS as well.

So it's our job to strong-arm every other country in the world to do our bidding?

Sounds like you advocate oppression of other countries (and the races they represent) to me.

You may or may not be aware that North Korea has been a Nuclear threat to the United States since the 90's. So much so that Obama left a letter for Trump on his way out the door that North Korea was America's largest threat. Ever administration has tried and failed to reason with that regime. A new approach was needed,

The TPP did nothing to temper the Chinese Communist Parties lust for world domination. They were and are building bases in the South China Sea, reconstructing the old silk road trade routes, etc.

Making blanket statements without proof is a fake news media tool. The truth still matters fwiw.

Japan kicked China’s *** in the 30’s. India might do the same. China is acting like a bully, soon as a country stands up to them, they will back down.

How has Trump empowered our enemies?
You think China wants Trump to win re-election, of course not.

I’ll tell you what empowers enemies, backing off of redlines, and stepping aside as Russia takes over a portion of an ally.

It empowered Kim so much he’s been replaced by his sister.
TPP would’ve put us further under China’s thumb.

Not even sure where to begin with how astonishingly ignorant this post is.

Enlighten me. Please. All I see are insults from you all. No substance.

I’ve definitely have come to realize that the Paddock isn’t looking for a range of viewpoints which is a bummer. I’ve learned a lot reading through and discussing COVID and a few of the other posts but in general it feels very one sided. I’ve really tried to keep an open mind and not insult people but have actual discussions but not sure if that is possible here.

For the last couple of years China's ambitions have given concern to the countries around it. India and Japan engaging in joint war game exercises has been a very new development. That coupled with the rise of nationalism in India is probably a factor. China has territorial disputes with virtually every country in its sphere. China is absolutely becoming more of a world player as its GDP, nuclear arsenal, etc probably demands but it has a huge set of geopolitical problems. Also, its road initiative is not cultivating good will. it is based on loans rather than grants (eg Marshall Plan post wwii) and a lot of countries are already griping, trying to renegotiate terms, etc.

I’m not looking for welcoming. Just discussion of points, not insults.

Well then why insult Trump? Isolation doesn’t mean no diplomacy but we’ve had 6 major wars in Asia since 1941. We’re sick of war and sick of war debt. Red China is evil and their neighbors know it so let them shoulder some weight.

We had wars when we were isolationist. We’ve only not been at war for 17 years in our countries history.

I think isolationism is outdated thinking. Our inconsistency policy wise makes China a more stable trade partner for other countries to work with. Maybe that’s a good thing, they can play world cop for a while. It’s hard for me to see how it is good long term though and I still haven’t seen a counter argument that’s convincing.

I'm not exactly upset over the thought of India and China getting into it with each other. Especially China. They certainly aren't making many friends..
