5-5 won't keep you employed at Texas..He should have stayed at uavel where Clint Hurtt's illegal recruits like Teddy B would have kept him winning..now it looks like he will be canned any day..Bye Bye Cholly..Find a school where your bedroom exploits are overlooked.[winking][winking][winking][winking]

I wouldn't write him off yet as a head coach. If ever there was a poor "fit" it's Charlie Strong at Texas. I think he could still succeed somewhere though.

I think he has been toast for months. He was "fired" very early in the season but didn't know it

He wouldn't have kept UofL at the level he had them when he left.

UofL got lucky all the way around in that deal.

They got Bridgewater because Strong hired a cheater as an assistant coach and then Strong did them a favor by leaving, paving the way for Petrino to rejoin the regime.

It all fell perfectly into place for Jurich.

So a coach can win big at Louisville but can't win big more than he loses at Texas, But a coach who can win at Louisville would have us in the playoff chase if we hired him. Lair logic

Those around the UT program claim that his hire by the fired AD, Steve Patterson, was an intentional sabotage since he knew he was out as well. Rumor but may have some truth to it.

So, you have inside information on Texas football. Well, thank you for enlightening UK fans to a college coach's career. The fact that Charlie Strong's career in Austin piques your interest will certainly be noted by the Texas Exes.

UT has Kansas and TCU left on the schedule. It's conceivable that they win both of those games as Kansas is worse than UK and TCU is down this season. He could go to a minor bowl and end up 8-5, however, that won't be good enough at UT. 10 wins and he probably keeps his job but doubtful with the way things are going this season.

I still want the action that the op put up over the summer saying they would bet 1,000 that Lamar Jackson Won't win the heisman. Won't respond for some reason.

They got Bridgewater because Mark Richt and Mike Bobo decided to go after a different qb who committed to us early, Christian Lemay, who never took a snap at UGA before transferring his sr year. Bridgewater begged for an offer and we told him we were only taking 1 and the spot was filled.

I believe it. Patterson likely the worst person ever to work in sports admin.

He'll have offers flooding in position coach and/or DC at some top P5 or HC offers from lower tier P5s and mid majors.

See if he doesn't end up with Urban Meyer, or some "video coordinator" under Saban. Perhaps he'll link up with the Mad Hatter. That's what winning programs and coaches do.

OP probably doesn't even know UK played today. To concerned with what a former Louisville coach is doing at a Big12 school. Pathetic gonna pathetic.
And what does that make your pathetic *** that you are here commenting on it with the rest of the brainless tard fans like Steelers lurking. Isn't your ghetto commuter school losing to Wake?

After Coach Strong got hired here in Austin, I strongly supported the choice. In my opinion, all the tools were in place for success by year three, and at least a 9-3 record. As others have stated earlier in this thread, he is perhaps a poor fit for the job. If you look at the Horns roster, talent is definitely there.

Horns should still go bowling if they beat the Jayhawks next Saturday. But, yeah, I believe his days are numbered on the 40 Acres.

I don't doubt that Bridgewater was interested in other schools, but he WENT to UofL and Hurtt IS a confirmed cheater.

This is a good take on how the situation did/would have played out.

I think Strong is gone. A program like Texas has access to all the talent you could need, but the coach there needs to have a big personality also to keep them in the news above the other Texas programs. Like Cal does for UK.

And let's be a honest, the whole " cholly" thing comes off as making fun of someone's ability to speak, if not a smidge racist
I still can't believe the mods allow these trolls to come over here and accuse our fans, on our board of being racist. I'm still pretty sure this joker hasn't been banned. So making fun of the way someone talks is now racist? [eyeroll]

Actually it was LSU that lost Bridgewater. TB was committed to Miami under Randy Shannon. Shannon was fired and TB withdrew his committment. Had a visit set up to LSU, intending to go there. LSU changed his visit date to accomodate Zach Mettenbergers visit. LSU made it known that Mettenberger was plan A. Bridgewater took offense to having his visit changed. One of TBs former team mates (Eli Rogers I think) was already at UofL and talked TB into visiting there. We know how it turned out from there.

LSU had him, but decided Mettenberger was a higher priority. One of many nails in Les Miles coffin.

Eli Rogers just scored a TD for the Steelers...and Miles really messed up that recruitment because you're correct...Bridgewater was headed to Baton Rouge...
