I posted on this site a few weeks ago that Pittsburgh would rue losing to the Cowboys and Browns, especially with the 3 games in 11 days that they had to play. What is surprising to me is how lousy their defense has become

Mahomes was picking the Pittsburgh D apart. He really was great today.

Mahomes: 29 for 38, 320 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs

Also, Mahomes wasn‘t sacked today.

By contrast, Wilson went 23 for 37 for 205 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. He was sacked five times for -43 yards.

The story for the Steelers this year is that they lack the discipline to be a really good team. In fact, this has been the case all during Tomlin's tenure. Good enough to have a winning record, but not disciplined enough to win championships.

Personally, I already think that they have over achieved for the year. This is still not a very talented roster. I’ll say that both Firlds and Wilson are better than KP from last year and the offensive line is slightly better, but not having that second receiver is killing them. And while Najee started off well, he is back to being the 3.9 ypc RB he’s been since his rookie year.
Defensively they got older on the defensive line as Watt is not quite the same that he’s been the last few years and Minkah has been below average. Take Boswell off of this team and instead of 10 and six they’re probably six and 10.

I wonder how many teams will start resting players now that playoff seedings are getting locked up. Barkley needs something like 160 yds to get reach 2,000 but the Eagles might rest him.

There's a lot of talk about Josh Allen for MVP but KC locked up the #1 seed so he might not play much in the Bill's last 2 games.

Not exactly a response to your post, but Hurts did not practice yesterday.

Far from a guarantee that he'll play on Sunday...if I were a betting man, my money would be on him not being cleared.

I watch basketball on Christmas - specifically the Knicks at noon.
