Where do you think he lands? Florida?
If Michigan somehow beats Ohio State again then Day will be fired.UF or FSU going head to head for the same coach.I’d give the slight edge to UF in that battle. Cignetti won’t make a lateral move, it will have to be a big time program.
Two dark horses are USC and Michigan.
He would do really well with all that Florida talent year in and year out.UF or FSU going head to head for the same coach.I’d give the slight edge to UF in that battle. Cignetti won’t make a lateral move, it will have to be a big time program.

Somebody needs to man the grills... No better man than Cignettiapplebees
Eff it - we hire him, and we set the trend! He will be 64...There is not a huge trend of hiring "old" coaches. My guess, he coaches 5 more years at IU and is done.
Unlimited Cignetti SpaghettiOlive Garden. He’s Italian!
I mean, IU CAN keep him, they have the money...but they probably will blow it.Eff it - we hire him, and we set the trend!
Bingo. Look at the schedule NW Nebraska and UCLA are his toughest games to date.Might have to prove himself for one more season
My guess is that he wants to stay at Indiana and isn't looking to leave. He doesn't strike me as a guy who suffers fools so I doubt that he would want to go a SEC school in the south. He will be 64...There is not a huge trend of hiring "old" coaches. Right? My guess is that he wants to stay at Indiana and isn't looking to leave. He doesn't strike me as a guy who suffers fools so I doubt that he would want to go a SEC school in the south.
There has been many flash in the pan coaches, let's see how he does next year.
I googled it and this is one explanation...I’ve always wondered about this old phrase. We all know what it means, or how it’s used, but where did this phrase really come from? How did it start? What specifically is a “flash in the pan”? Does anyone really know? Does anyone really want to know or care? Just some things to think about… gbr
Maybe he'll reopen the old Mr. C's in Omaha!Olive Garden. He’s Italian!
It would be Urban Meyer II. Possibly without the off the fieHe would do really well with all that Florida talent year in and year out.
Google me. That comment seemed to indicate that he wanted national attention. My guess is that he wants to stay at Indiana and isn't looking to leave. He doesn't strike me as a guy who suffers fools so I doubt that he would want to go a SEC school in the south.
I agree, for the most part fans of big time programs need to have their balls (egos) massaged. We like to feel that the coach "works" for us and that he should be there to answer our questions. He has a very grating personality that I don't think would go over well here, or any blue blood program for that matter. Especially if he's not successful right away. I think he has a really good situation going on in Indiana and should coach and retire there.
He is pounding who should be pounded...including hapless Nebraska.Bingo. Look at the schedule NW Nebraska and UCLA are his toughest games to date.
I was thinking something with panning for goldI googled it and this is one explanation...
"The term 'flash in the pan' originated sometime during the late 17th century, when flintlock muskets were used. An attempt to fire a musket that resulted in gunpowder flaring up but no ball firing was referred to as a flash in the pan."
I KNEW it had to do with gunpowder! "No ball firing" = I love this![]()
I had a different take on the "Google me" comment. I look at it as a guy who was dismissive of a question about how he sells his team culture. If he's short with reporters after getting hired and in the honeymoon period, how will he be at a place like Florida which is a whole different world? It would be Urban Meyer II. Possibly without the off the fie

Oh yeah, for sure.64 going on 44. dude is in good shape for his age.
Well if I had to guess it would come from firing a old musket . You could see a flash but it didn't fire. ? Ha, ha, I didn't see that you looked it up already. I be smart and ****.I’ve always wondered about this old phrase. We all know what it means, or how it’s used, but where did this phrase really come from? How did it start? If they make it...it is going to TRIGGER some firings at the other doormat Big Ten schools.I looked up what I could find on his contract so not only does he get 4 mil a year at Indiana, he seems like he will hit near a million in bonuses and trigger an automatic one year extension since he is going bowling.
He may end up retiring from IU, if he makes the playoffs they’ll name a building after him there
He has massively exceeded expectations. NO ONE saw that coming. If they did come, I want to see receiptsIf they make it...it is going to TRIGGER some firings at the other doormat Big Ten schools.
Totally agree! He has massively exceeded expectations. NO ONE saw that coming. If they did come, I want to see receipts
I'll take "origin of phrases" for 200.00 Alex.I’ve always wondered about this old phrase. We all know what it means, or how it’s used, but where did this phrase really come from? How did it start? IF they make the playoff, IU will pay him with an extension.Right?
Unless the money is just that big of a difference, why go?
Look, in 120 years of IU football this is the first time they have been 9-0. He can finish 9-4 and he is a god. He can go 6-6 the next 5 years and be
39-34 and STILL go down as one of their best coaches in history.
Also, feel free to check my math because I suck at it.
