Interesting clause from Cignetti's new deal. Basically, following any year Indiana makes the CFP semifinal, there is to be a re-negotiation. In short, if Indiana does not offer his salary to be adjusted to no worse than 3rd highest among all coaches, Cignetti can opt out of the deal with no buyout given to Indiana.

Curt Cignetti's new contract clause may become standard for college football coaches
Crazy. Perhaps it’s better going with a Matt Campbell type of coach rather than dealing with this insanity that exists now with a Cognetti or Elko type. Structure his contract to give him a good but not outrageous base and generously reward for performance.

Didn't Saban have a clause that stipulated he always had to be in the top 3 in salary? So basically anytime another coach reset the market, Saban automatically also got a raise.
