I just accepted an offer for a new job in Milford, OH this morning. I will not be starting for 2 weeks and will be commuting from Lexington until my lease is up this June. That being said, does anyone know of any apartment locations located preferable in the Newtown, Mariemont, etc. areas? I would like to have live in a central location between work and downtown. Any help would be appreciated, and as always, GBB.

I don't know how old you are or your situation, but would suggest Mt. Lookout. The commute to work wouldn't be too bad (15-20 min) and you still wouldn't be far from downtown (10 min). Mt. Lookout is actually a really nice area for young professionals with bars and restaurants within walking distance.
If you stay any further out toward Milford (Anderson or anything like that), it's going to suck doing anything on the weekends.

Yeah, at 23, Mt. Lookout will be perfect for you. Like I said, it's 10 minutes from downtown. Plus, it is chock full of 20-somethings. There are people out running all the time, walking their dogs, coffee shops, restaurants, a nice little bar district. If I was 23, I'd want to live downtown/OTR or Mt. Lookout/Hyde Park/Oakley. There are a few great places downtown. Over the Rhine has plenty of affordable apartments. In 2061 when the street car is done, you won't be able to tell if you live in cincinnati or san francisco.
I'd recommend living closer to work... Driving in Cincinnati blows. IMO, driving extra to get downtown is better than driving longer in Cinci traffic to get to work every day.
I live in Mariemont and while it's nice and a little closer to Milford, Mt Lookout/Oakley/Hyde Park would be a much better option for you. Like Chad said, it's an easy 20 min drive. Just go slow through Terrace Park as there are tons of speed traps.
There are lots of nice new apartments in Oakley by the new movie theater and a lot of older houses you can rent in all of those neighborhoods. A little expensive but it's an incredible area - diverse, very safe, good nightlife, bars and restaurants, lots of action with joggers, dog walkers, tons of people your age, things going on etc. 10 min from downtown.
There are lots of nice new apartments in Oakley by the new movie theater and a lot of older houses you can rent in all of those neighborhoods. A little expensive but it's an incredible area - diverse, very safe, good nightlife, bars and restaurants, lots of action with joggers, dog walkers, tons of people your age, things going on etc. 10 min from downtown.
I work and live in Milford - at the Technecenter off route 50.
I lived in Mariemont too. I loved living in Mariemont with kids - a movie theater, a starbucks, a public pool and graeter's ice cream all within walking distance. Pretty nice setup

I would also recommend Oakley - because you are minutes from downtown and its about a 30 minute commute to Milford on Route 50/Wooster and you never have to get on I-275 or I-71 to get to work. Plus you have Rookwood. There are some really cool apartments, IIRC. just outside Oakley on Madison just past the Mega Church (don't remember its name) intersection. Seemed like a great place for singles.

I lived in Oakley for a while and loved it. Your commute wouldn't be bad and you can find an identical apartment for quite a bit less that what you'd pay down the street in Hyde Park. Honestly, anywhere on the East Side is good, though there are some rough spots.
Exactly. OTR is one of the best, most exciting neighborhoods in the city. New bars/restaurants opening every week. Events going on every weekend. It's amazing.
actually OTR is becoming gentrified. While it still has a ways to go, it continually improves as it has become a desirable area to be for the more adventurous and cost conscious downtowners - unfortunately you don't want to stray too far west as Central Ave and Lower Price Hill are still pretty dicey.
