Kentucky has contacted Cincinnati guard transfer Dan Skillings Jr., he tells KSR+. Sources tell KSR+ that some initial contact has been made, but the family is still setting a time to speak with the coaches.

Played hard when he was on the floor. Seemed like a great teammate off the floor. Cant fault the guy for wanting the hold out and get another full season.
100% agree. I'll be rooting for him to have a healthy and productive season ahead.

Skillings is connected to a rising AAU coach employed by Nike on the Philadelphia AAU circuit. 6'6 junior, probably 2 years of eligibility remaining? He doesn't really shoot the 3 that well though. Seems like he'd be more of an Oweh style rather than a shooter. He's never shot higher than 30% from 3 in his career so far.
For whatever reason he is ranked as one of the best two guards in the portal right now.
I really liked Skillings potential as a freshman...he was a better player then than he is now.
Yeah me too, I thought he had a lot of potential but he seems to have peaked somewhat.

He wouldn’t be bad for defense and driving for sure but we need shooters now.
With those shooting numbers he better be the greatest defensive player of all time.
I just think it's cool that we can have all 15 players on the roster. This has gotta be a deep depth move. Unless there is something more there than meets my eye.
Lord forbid another season where we dont have multiple guys at multiple positions to backup in case we lose someone to an injury. Get as many bodies in as possible, we never know when we may need them !

6 6 and can move. Sturdy build with bball iq. Versatile. Good on the break. Could he be a defensive stopper?
Great athlete, but shooting is an issue from outside. Terrific in transition, but makes a lot of stupid turnovers and his defense is lacking. Kid could be an absolute stud if he's in the right situation, he got a big NIL deal from Cincy and it seems like he took a step back.
