Im excited for the game tonight, yet saddened that I'll be on a plane the entire time. I guess gametracker will have to suffice.

Hope we have a great energetic crowd tonight. Starting now, every game we have left is the most important game of the season.

Boy, for a minute I thought I had missed tip-off. Yes, we must win out or we have to win three in a row in Orlando.

Looks like we're 1-point favorites. Which is great until you consider we were favored last year as well and laid a 47-point egg in the biggest game of the season. And we're all painfully aware of the previous meeting this year.

This has been an especially bad matchup for Shaq, who seems to be a glutton for the punishment that Gary Clark and Octavius Ellis dish out under the basket. He's 9/29 in 2 games against Cinci.

We're clearly outmatched down low and it's a fool's errand to drive right at these guys. In my opinion, they're the best team in the country at altering shots without fouling. But they also have a tendency to overpursue, leaving shooters wide open in the corners. We'll need a big bounce-back game from Woodard after that dud in Storrs.

Defensively it's a decent matchup for our zone, but we have to track Farad Cobb, whose 2nd and 3rd highest-scoring games of his career have come against Tulsa. Otherwise, I'm fine letting Caupain, Johnson, and Evans jack it up from deep. That was Temple's attitude and they were rewarded with a 3/20 from those guys.

I've been saying it all week. There's a crack in the door, but we have to bust it down starting tonight.

The key to this game is our 3rd option. Pat Birt. If he can shoot that 3 tonight then driving lanes will open up for Shaq and Swannegan will have a better chance at some offensive boards and second chance points.

Defensive rebounds may be the key. We can't give them multiple shots per possession. And not covering a KNOWN three point shooter has cost us 3-4 games. And hate to say it but FT shooting also cost us at least two games.

These Cincy teams remind me a lot of the Tulsa teams in the 90's. Very Gritty. They come in with an an attitude like they're going to win every game. Their scoring is extremely balanced and any of their 8 primary guys can torch you on any given night.

That said, we've got to out rebound them AND jam their outside shot if we want to win. It's as simple as that. I looked back through their losses, and besides the one 2OT game vs Temple where Cincy shot 5.6% (let me repeat that 5.6%!!!) from 3, Cincy wins almost every game where they out rebound their opponents. If we win tonight, it will be a Herculean effort from the entire team.

Despite all that. I think Haith pulls this one out of his butt. Tulsa by 5. Mark it down.

Cover their three point shooter like II said... always no matter what.
Be aggressive attacking the paint.
Be aggressive on the boards.

I'm not going to make it. We have family in from SC that we are meeting in B-Ville. Hopefully there will be a TV somewhere...

This is because Cinci is just full of huge dudes? What is with their teams looking like a bunch of prison yard thugs constantly? I seems like an ongoing them at their school.

Anyone know if the online audio stream is blocked for 99.5 like they did with the old station?

Why do I expect to see Mick Cronin bust out some skates and do a triple axel?

NO MORE ZONE, unless it is a half court trapping zone. We can't compete In a half court game.

Cincy has a player named Cocaine? At least it sounds like that when the announcer says it.

We've had multiple chances to cut the lead to one or two points and either turn it over or miss free throws then I look up. And suddenly we're down 7 or 8 again.

Our guys are getting killed going to the rim. Maybe the block is clean but we're getting pushed, shoved, hip checked, and thrown to the ground afterwards. Refs only concerned where the ball is

Looking more and more like Cincy, UCONN, and whoever wins the conference tourney. Temple blew too many chances at good wins and has two bad losses. They could win the regular season championship and end up in the NIT.

Cincy really has a good defensive game plan. They are playing zone but matching up with Birt on the perimeter. Expect Haith to make adjustments in the second half to free up Birt from behind the arc.
