Clausell is a huge, huge minus on this team

How many false starts did he have? I counted at least 3.

How many times did he simply get raped by UGA's DEs?

That dude is Relf's blind side defense (MOVIE REFERENCE LOLZ)....is he really the best option we have? I think I would rather see Carmon head back out to LT and keep Day at center after today. I've never seen a softer left tackle in the SEC.

The reason that Carmon was at guard (this week) was to try to offset the 3-4 Noseguard.Otherwise, I think he would have been at LT!
Doing the best we can, with what we have!

we are depending on 2 RFR who had ZERO other SEC offers (Clausell & Day) to either start for us or play lots of minutes. That's a LOT to ask. Not to say these guys won't be pretty decent players for us eventually but they aren't ready yet. But we've got older guys like Hardy and Watts and Trapp who must be so bad our coaches are scared to put them on the field. If we had 7 to 8 SEC quality lineman in our Sophomore through Senior classes we wouldn't have to be depending so much on guys that aren't ready yet.

Hell half of JWS's best teams were JUCO transfers from KS and OK. I do not want to go back to those days, but they can be used successfully to plug gaps immediately. We act like we are too good for this.

we signed a total of 4 HS O-linemen in those two years combined. John Paul Alford and Sam Watts are non-factors. Tobias Smith is out for the year. That leaves Gabe Jackson as the lone contributor from consective signing classes.

Jason Peacock is starting at LT for Arkansas. He was a Juco OL that picked Arkansas over us last year.

Damien Robinson, Archie Muniz, and Eric Lawson should all be getting time over Day and Clausell if you go just off of their recruitment. But the only one of those 3 even on the depth chart is Robinson...

and Muniz had several BCS options. So, I think both of them were 2 or 3 stars, but the ever coveted "offer list" was much better in both cases. <div>
</div><div>Jokes were being made about how Southern Miss and Tulane were pissed that we stole guys like Clausell and Day from them, when these three guys had other BCS offers. So, if anything, a lot of the blame should be on them as well for not sacking up and providing some of that extra depth we need.</div>

Lawson wasn't heavily recruited and several schools backed off of Robinson late in the process. But you are focusing on the the wrong issue. Redshirt freshmen can't be counted on in the SEC at the OL position. The problem is we have a 2 deep that consists of Seniors and Freshmens with Gabe Jackson as the exception. We whiffed on 2 classes.

Mullen came in and had to load up on offensive linemen in his first year of recruiting. Mullen certainly has his faults in recruiting, but blaming our lack of depth solely on Mullen is ridiculous. Croom dealt him this hand of offensive linemen.

was a Croom/Mullen class but Mullen came in late enough that I won't put much blame on him especially since at the time we were so down on decent caliber WRs and we used a number of scholarships on that. What I do blame Mullen and staff for is not coming up with a decent JUCO or two to plug the holes in the OL depth in those classes. If we had 1 or 2 JUCOs added in the last year or two contributing right now in the OL it would make a world of difference in the quality of our current team.

you know, we have all of these coaches like Mirando, Mullen, Hevesey, Sallach, Wilson that have no ties whatsoever to MS. Maybe we don't have the JC connections we once did. I'm glad we finally put Slay in there. He was a lockdown corner in Juco. I would strongly consider moving Banks back to FS or whatever we have to do to keep him on the field.
