My son and I will be getting into Cleveland early afternoon on Wednesday and I am trying to figure out some good ways to kill some time. I haven't seen any wrestling-related events for Wednesday and I am not much of a basketball fan (saw the Cavs play at 3). Other than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, what are some good spots to check out (son is 17, so bars will be generally out).

If you’ve got access to a vehicle and don’t mind a bit of a drive I’d recommend Guido’s Pizza in Chesterland, a 40 minute drive 28 miles east on Route 322, straight shot. Voted best CLE Pizza regularly. Excellent Italian fare and portions are good. *CASH ONLY and BYOB, so there’s that. But we’ll be heading there Saturday afternoon.

If anyone is going and staying at The Doubletree by Hilton Tudor Arms, and driving, try to park your car under one of the light poles. Last time we were there was for the Stones 2024, and our car was broken into overnight. Nothing was taken (cops said they were likely looking for cash, drugs, and weapons), but still had the hassle of dealing with that.

And, if you're mass transiting, I'd try to stay in groups. You're right on the edge of sketchy, if not in it. Pretty unfortunate, because the property is actually pretty cool.

Don't overlook the chocolate chip cookies. They are fresh baked and delicious. If you stop and ask nicely each time you pass the desk, you can get several each day. Perfect with cold milk. I could almost live on them!

Just bought a ticket. Going alone; will need to make new friends there. :)

What’s with this AXS app? No ability to move the tickets to my Apple wallet???

No, it's always been that way. Asked several years ago, and was told that it is a stand-alone platform with its own security. No Apple Wallet or Google Pay options at all. Must open your AXS app at the venue and scan from there.

Hopefully a screenshot will suffice… or print it while it’s up

Head east on 90, get off at MLK blvd and drive down to CLE Natural Hist Museum or other things along the drive. You will end up best Cleveland Clinic main campus. Lots of options down that way.

ParkWhiz shows lots of options. I prepaid for $25 each day and am currently walking to arena from my garage thru connecting indoor walkway.

A few observations from my second-ever trip to NCAAs:
  • It’s close, but I think PSU fans outnumber Ohio State fans. Unfortunately, I’m in an Ohio State section. I did thank those around me for sending us Rocco.
  • The arena is very good visually. Sight lines are outstanding. Beer selection is good. Food selection is awful. And the leg room is atrocious. I’m 5’8 and it’s difficult for me to sit for an extended period of time b/c of the lack of leg room.
  • Good location in the middle of the city with plenty to offer within a short walk. Also found plenty of hotel selections at a reasonable price. Parking is very affordable as well.
  • Met and talked to the parents of a few wrestlers on other teams. Doesn’t seem like they get very good tickets because they’re sitting up where I am. :)
  • $273 for all-sessions to this was a steal
