This was one of the worst coaching performances I have ever seen. I can't believe we gave up the lead in the first place. Then we can't manage clock. Just horrible. Only Mark Stoops can bungle a sure win like that.

I Literally CANNOT BELIEVE he didn't call a timeout.

Agree with the coaching blunders, should have never been that close. Gotta hang on to the football no matter what when we're up 10 in the red zone. And announcer was totally correct in calling stoops out for not calling a timeout. But damn what a win! Hopefully Stoops will finally realize one of these days how to manage a game better, but I'll take it. Beat Missouri!

JUST LIKE LAST SEASON!!!!! STOOPS COSTING US!!!!!!

Don't always listen to TV analysts. I just watched the replay for the mere purpose of watching clock mgt. There was 22 seconds left when the play started and Johnson got the ball with 17 seconds. The pass to Baker took 8 seconds. The lack of a timeout cost 5 seconds.

Gilmore made it sound like several seconds were wasted. The whole drive had 5 wasted seconds! I've seen far, far worse by other ranked SEC schools this year.

Granted, I'd like to have those 5 seconds back. But Stoops was leaving himself 2 timeouts for a play across the middle then the last one to setup for FG.

Was it ideal? More than likely not. But we won. I'm not stupid enough to complain about a win over team who has owned us for nearly a decade.

Well we won the game and we still have a timeout left. We do still have a To left right?

OK, I hear you, but when we have 2 timeouts, why not use one? Even if it saved us 5 seconds, why are you not using one?

This is what I'm saying. Coach Stoops did this last season and cost us two games. He almost cost us tonight again.

You cannot do that as a big time SEC Coach. There is no excuse for that.

Austin won us that game.

It would have saved more than 5 seconds because we wouldn't have thrown a deep ball that took 8 seconds. Would have had 22 seconds with a few tries to complete the play we ended up completing rather than one try. Glad it didn't bite us.

You could replay that drive with just about any coaching staff in America and not have a timeout left after the game. Not going to complain about the results but the outcome was not a result of not calling a timeout. You can't mismanage the clock like that and hope all works out in the end. Elated with the win, disgusted by the coaching blunders that damn near cost a sure win.

The fumble and dropped int in the end zone almost cost us the game. NOT stoops, this time.

Granted, I think Johnson should've been chucked the ball to kill the clock and save the timeouts. But, to your question of why not use a TO with 22 seconds. 1) I'm sure Johnson was supposed to work middle of the field and take what they give him. The end of that play would have been to #1. 2) You do the same thing again to get in FG range then call fg #2.

Rarely does everything work out the way it's practiced. But Stoops didn't mismanage the clock. Johnson started to hit the quick pass then saw Baker and took a deep shot.

How bout Badet getting down after making the catch with 3 seconds just like it's coached every week. If you're going to criticize a judgement call where's the credit for coaching a team to execute end of the game situations?

Not at all. That clock management was awful. Coach Stoops almost cost us that game. Thank You Jeff Badet and Austin for winning the game and saving our season.

How many times have teams scored on us with less the minute left in a half? For all we know they could have had time to hit a winning FG. So no you're a sad case.

We won, it was still lousy clock management. MSU had 3 TO's left, didn't even try to ice McGinnis, beat MSU fans are fuming.

I had the same thought. I thought one MSU timeout was a given. I was wondering during the whole play if Mullen would try to ice him twice! Even after the kick I was expecting announcers to say a TO was called just before the kick.

Gosh could Mullen be a worse coach then Stoops?

You people blaming Stoops look like complete idiots. Gran is in control of the offense. If he wanted to call a TO on the last drive, pretty sure he could have if he wanted to.

Good lord, enjoy win and STFU about stupid stuff, especially when you're wrong and look like a pathetic child complaint about his little brother calling him a poopie head.

GO CATS!!!
