Per UNC Cheats he could win 5 titles in next five years and he would not be as great as Dean Smith.

Just a couple of small points that you might want to go back and edit because some fans might come after you pretty hard for it. The parts where you said "9 of UCLA's 10 titles were during a time when the tournament only had 23 or 25 teams" you might want to change it from UCLA to Wooden and when you said for "UCLA's 10th and final title" you might also want to change that from UCLA's to Wooden's as well because UCLA won more title post Wooden era and some fanbases will come after you about correct facts. I hope I don't offend you but I just thought I would mention it. Great article by the way.

Final Four in 4 decades is amazing

Coach K and Popovich both have Titles in 3 decades, granted Pops was in 1999. Until Pop wins a title without Duncan, you have to give Coach K the edge. Same applies for Belicheck without Tom Brady

The only thing K could do to end this discussion is win an NBA title. Since that will never happen there will always be an argument. I don't like to compare people across different sports and I am hesitant to make comparisons across eras. Coach K is clearly the best coach during the 35 years he has been coaching. That is good enough in my book. That means he is better than every single person he coached against, with, or at the same time as.

There are no absolutes in cross-sport comparisons. I can't imagine a coach doing more with what Coach K has had at Duke. That is what matters most to me. He's been nothing but inspirational for 33 years. That's a long time and a lot of talking and decision making. The guy has come out on the other side totally unscathed. He's amazing. There's a reason Coach K's time costs 20 times more than HOF Coach Roy's time.

Knicks' Fisher on Coach K: 'He's what I'm striving to become'

It's no surprise one of the Knicks coach's role models is Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, who won his fifth NCAA championship Monday night in Indianapolis.

Fisher revealed one of the motivations of staying in Las Vegas last July for Team USA's practices after the Knicks participation in summer league had ended was to watch Coach K, whom he calls "a beacon of light.''

"That was part of the reason, other than going to see Tim [Hardaway Jr. on the Select Team] last year in Vegas,'' Fisher said. "I wanted to kind of observe Coach K and his coaches doing what they do. He's obviously been a model of success for decades.

"Many young people, players, coaches, executives, business people have all learned from what he does. He' s an inspiration to many people not just in basketball life.

"He's what I'm striving to become,'' added Fisher, who considers former Dukie Lance Thomas one of his favorites. "His leadership is consistent. He's consistent in the kind of guys he brings to the program.'

LeBron congratulates 'favorite' coach Krzyzewski on NCAA championship

LeBron James and Mike Krzyzewski have a special relationship.

So it was no surprise when the Cleveland Cavaliers star took to social media Tuesday morning to send Coach K a heartfelt congratulations on his Duke Blue Devils' NCAA championship win.

James, who played for Krzyzewski in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, posted a photo collage on Instagram congratulating his "favorite," Coach K.

K is the best men's college basketball coach ever. The numbers don't lie. Comparing men's basketball to women's is like comparing apples to grapes. OFC

Tough call.....

You can really make a case for Popivich and Belichek. I think the biggest thing that really helps K is that he has done this for so many years. To be a champion from the early 90's, in the early millennium, and in the 10's, he's really transcended time and shown an incredible ability to adapt to the times.

On the other hand, football is by far the hardest sport to coach and especially in the NFL.

Vince Lambordi is up there for sure.
