Coach K said he'll play more players? Is that the 40th year in a row for that quote?
Like always they have to earn their pt. He can't afford to send in a player and even though he may score a quick basket if he turns the ball over twice and the man he is guarding scores 3 orv4 whike he's guarding him then he's a liabilty . If a player is defensively or can't hit a free throw if he's sitting on top of the basket then he must work to improve. OFC

Thank you for posting this! I was surprised K said Matthew was ahead on defense. I'm getting excited for this group.
If he does we'll be a legit Final Four threat. The pieces on this team should fit really well. I'm not saying Tre has to make the kind of leap Jay Williams made between his freshman and sophomore years, but if his shooting improves and he becomes more of a scoring threat we could be dangerous.
Getting Tre Jones back was more important than Cole Anthony going to UNX. He will make it very tough for other teams to get into their offense and with better spacing on offense he will thrive going to the basket. Can't wait!
Lots of good stuff. Tre has lost 8 lbs so he's going to be a bit quicker. Carey lost 20 lbs (to 255) and said he's stronger. Alex has added weight (hopefully muscle) and he needed to be stronger to hold up physically in games.
Also hopeful that Jack will keep his 3 point shot the whole season. It's also good to see that Baker is bigger and stronger and recognizes what he will have to do to compete and contribute and that his 3 point shooting will be there. With he, Jack, and Alex we could be a much better 3 point shooting team.
Really, having guys who play and can shoot the 3 is going to give this team something that they didn't have last year and if not as dominant or top heavy with talent, perhaps have a better chance at getting to the FF. Hopefully Tre can improve some. Even if he can get over 30% (He shot 26% last year), perhaps into the 33-35% range he can be enough of a threat so that defenses don't drop off from guarding him.
Once again, K talked about depth and defense and running basketball. Hoping and praying this becomes a truth and not just early talk.
