I heard Dickie V on Chris Russo's show today and he was passionately defending Jim B.

I actually thought he was about to cry at a couple of points.

I'm sure he truly feels that way given how the NCAA didn't rule on Maggette and Thomas .

And what would K know about Penalties ? His pay for play program has never even drawn a second look from the NCAA.
Just venting a bit, sorry

Most coaches wouldn't stab each other in the back publicly regardless of how they really feel. With Boeheim coaching with Coach K in recent years and with Coach K having some of his own issues, of course he wouldn't say anything bad about him. UNC is his biggest rival and I don't think he has uttered a word about their issues. Maybe has to do with the old saying about people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

K should probably worry a little more about what's going on in his own back yard.

He's like the old, meddling church deacon who's overstayed his post. Can't wait for the day Coach K hangs 'em up. Knowing his crusty desire for more overall wins, however, that day probably won't come until he's pushing 80 years old. The man is incapable of attempting anything else in his life. The perpetual, era-long scowl on the face of his wife really tells the tale.

Penalties not harsh enough imo. He should be suspended for a year along with loss of schollys etc.

Meanwhile his mentor and best friend Bob Knight still maintains that Cal is "everything that's wrong with college basketball"...

These douche bags make me sick!

I agree,I will be glad when he is gone.He is so different that the image that the media continues to give him,he is Bob Knight without the ability or nerve to throw a chair.Knight didn't try to hide what he was,K has spent a whole career doing just that.

Obviously K is long time friends with Jim. Also, coaches are NOTORIOUSLY tight-lipped when it comes to bashing other coaches. So this is not such a crazy story, that this would be his public statement.

Smashcat, you seem to start a lot of these anti-Duke threads.

I always defend my colleagues when they are caught lying, cheating and stealing. Afterall, anyone who does it should get a slap on the wrist. That'll teach em!

Personal responsiblity for ones own actions has gone out the window. Let's teach our kids that cheating is worth it.
