We've been discussing Dixon to TCU and Letsgodukies just resurrected the K successor thread, but I wanted to see what people think of this whole process in general. I confess to following it closely, especially in the off-season, but it bothers me that coaches can split with little or no regard for the kids they recruited or the schools they are leaving. I live on Long Island, so it was inevitable that Stony Brook's coach would leave as soon as he had some success, and sure enough...But the school is devastated and the feeling is that they have to start all over. And Dixon has 3 and a 3.3 star prospects signed to LOIs. Should recruits be able to void their LOIs, and should other student-athletes be able to transfer without the one year penalty?
Pennies for your thoughts...

I think players who have signed their LOI's and will be freshman this fall should be able to re-open their recruitment. The players already in the program would have to go through the normal transfer process, otherwise you're just creating chaos.

A lot of people say that high schoolers should choose a school/program and not a coach, but, c'mon, they can't be serious.

Obviously every recruit is different, but I believe the majority of HS recruits choose a school based on alot of factors, coach always being 1 of the top factors.
