Lol, I was at the North Florida - USC Upstate game yesterday and I can confirm that there were, in fact, students tailgating with signs that said that.

i watched that one and it was one of the great atmospheres for a single game i can remember.
Unfortunately for these schools, UK as a #1 seed has won their games vs #16 seeds by 43, 38, 38, 31, 20, 29 and 15. That's an average of 30.6 points over the last 20 years...
I watched the replay with my wife when we got home, and if you can believe it, it was louder than on what you heard on TV. Was just a crazy atmosphere.
Plus, they serve beer there in the arena for $3.50, so people were definitely getting hammered and going wild. Myself included.

i laughed, but it certainly seemed to help them. it was batshit. i just hope they don't get paired up with UK. i want to root for them.

We laugh at these things, and they are funny. But there probably is some degree of truth in their signs, playing UK brings more exposure than most of these teams get all year long. And should they pull an historic upset, they could "live off of" that for 20 years or so.
Ha ha ha, if #1 overall seed, undefeated 34-0 University of Kentucky ended up playing a #16 seed North Florida team, and then, with that record, became the first 1 seed to lose to a 16 seed, I think that UNF would be living off of that victory for all time. Not only that, but it would get brought up and shown ad nauseam every year at tournament time just like the Laettner shot does now.
Needless to say, I agree with you. I hope UNF gets paired in one of the first round (play in) games with a team they have a shot a beating so that they can at least possibly get a win.
