What's your favorite? Most extreme? Oldie but goodie?

Millennium Force has been the 'biggest' one I've been on. Just crazy high and fast. Never braved the line for the taller one at Cedar Point.

My oldie-but-goodie is the Vortex at KI. Never gets boring and it's gotten more rickety with age.

havne't been to Kings Island in a LONG TIME
Do they still have the Beast?

I think that was the biggest wooden coaster in the US at one time?

The Beast is still there. The Vortex is really rough now. And the Racer just beats you to hell

Firehawk and Diamondback are where it's at now.

Have you ridden Vortex recently? It's awful. I'd ride The Beast in the back 10 times before I'd ride Vortex.

The only one I've been to in the last 20 years is Kings Island so it will all be there. I really like the Firehawk now but I know a couple of people that don't like it and I get it. For those that haven't ridden it, the first thing they do is lay you on your back and it keeps flipping you from your back to your stomach. Very disorienting and it's really freaky when you are on your stomach. Oldie but goodie has to be the Beast. I'm prejudice since it opened at the same time as I got big enough to ride roller coasters.
I did not enjoy waiting in line 3 hours for this. Yes, it is just one loop. First ever though I believe.

Not recently. I road it about 12 years ago and it seemed fine then. Then again it was hot as hell all day and I thought I was having a heat stroke earlier in the day so on the way up the first hill it started pouring rain which made that ride amazing.

The Beast is GOAT imo. Last time I rode it I got off limping tho. Worth.

I did get to ride the Son of Beast when I was there and had the loop. It was fun but just didn't measure up to dad. RIP

Firehawk is awful. Never get sick on roller coasters, but did on that one. Not vomit sick, but definitely motion sickness afterwards.

Diamondback is the best coaster at KI now, and it's not really close. Very smooth.

First ever I ever rode was Lochness monster or some crap like that at Busch Gardens. Last I've been to was KI with my wife a couple of years ago and she made me go on some. I hate rollercoasters with all my heart, I'm a giant gash with all that stuff, but I remember going on outer limits when I was like 12 and thinking it was scary as hell and then this last time I rode it it was pretty lame.

Outer Limits always seemed to be broken....no matter when we would try to ride it. Was even better when you waited in the 2 hour line, only be told the ride is being shut down, as you were next in line.

Getting into my mid-forties, but still like a good coaster. But I've found I need a little bit of recovery time between rides, stomach gets more queasy with age.

KI hit list: Beast is still the best. Top gun (or whatever they are calling it now, The Bat?) is short, but underrated. Used to love the Vortex, but I get off it now with a headache from my head being thrown repeatedly into the foam pads on either side of my head.
Banshee is a great ride, well executed. Sit in one of the side chairs rather than the inner 2 chairs, or it's kinda boring. Diamondback is a good ride, plenty of negative G's. The racers are nice for nostalgia, but it's rickety and you always feel like you are about to get thrown from the car. Drop Tower is about 3 seconds of thrill, but still fun. Hate Firehawk. Long line, uncomfortable ride.

Invertigo, Flight of Fear, Delirium are worth a try, but don't leave you with much of an urge to come back.

Don't waste your time: Adventure Express, Backlog Stunt Coaster, Wind Seeker.

What happened to son of beast that they took it out?
Poor design, wood is not a good material to support a loop or 70 + MPH speeds. It hurt my back when I rode it because it was so rough. Eventually it was closed due to the many mechanical problems, KI sued the design firm, and after letting it sit for several years finally dismantled it. Banshee took some of its original footprint.

They put the Banshee where Son of Beast was so I think it was an upgrade anyway. Banshee is pretty cool.

What is everyone's record for most rides in a day? I take my friend's wife and kid every year and we went a few years ago on a day when it called for rain most of the day but we had already taken off from work for our yearly trip. It rained once for about a half hour at around 5 but that was it and we saw it coming so we got out of it. We rode 43 coasters in one day. It was awesome.

The Outer limits had those head supports and your head would rattle against them and leave you with a head ache. Last time I road it was again like 12 years ago and they had removed the head supports which made it much better.

I loved riding The Beast at night in the middle of summer over and over again from the front seat. Pitch dark track the whole way. All time memories right there.

But Cedar Point is incredible for coasters. Magnum XL, Millenium Force, Top Drag, Blue Streak, Maverick, Gemini Twins, and on and on. I think they took down Meanstreak (awesome wood coaster, too).

Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force are the best I've ridden. Gatekeeper at CP is also a very cool ride. Diamondback at KI is a great ride too. The way the seats are on Diamondback just make it feel like you're floating the whole time. I haven't ridden the Vortex in years. Used to be my favorite ride, but it just beats you all to hell now. Diamondback, The Beast, and Banshee are the best Kings Island has to offer.

I rode the beast for the first time in a decade three years ago and the last double helix bruised my kidney.

Wild eagle in Dollywood is dope.
X2 at six flags magic mountain is like nothing else in North America.

This.

Cedar Point is pure "rip off your schlong" and feed it to your dog, over the top THRILL ride paradise. Nothing compares.

Love this stuff. My oldest daughter is adventurous, smart, beautiful and fun. I love hanging out with and is she is awesome in every way except she is too nervous to go on roller coasters. I told her I'll give her until she's ten to figure it out and then she's disowned. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Haven't been to KI in a few years, but gonna hit it up this summer. Dragging small kids around the last time wasn't a lot of fun for old dad (except watching them on their rides).

Middle son is starting to enjoy rides more. He begged and pleaded to go on Space Mountain last summer and was scared out of his skin, but wanted to go right back on immediately afterwards. (No more Fast Passes, so LOL nope)

Back when the middle kid was about three, we took the oldest and him to Cedar Point. Oldest was not interested at all in coasters, and wife was tired and hot so they kicked back at a restaurant and show while I got about 3 hours to hit everything I could. It was glorious. One of the best times of my adult life.

I liked the old Star Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom before they removed it. Very safe ride......

Desperado(BuffaloBill's) just outside of Vegas is pretty good, try and hit it up anytime I'm out there. Rode the one on top of The Stratosphere, but other than the novelty of being that high up, it was pretty lame.

Only been to CP once but that was before they built Millennium Force :( The MagnumXL and Raptor were good.

The Cyclone at Coney Island was pretty good for a classic wooden coaster. The Rattler at Fiesta Texas was good, but I believe they've tamed it down some since a lot of complaints about the rough ride.

Love me a good coaster. I'm more of a height/speed fan than I am of loops, corkscrews and other gimmicky rides.

Unfortunately I can no longer ride them. Back just can't hold up to the beating. Last one I rode before back said no more was the wooden one at Holiday World. I think it was called The Voyage. It sucks because I loved riding coasters. I grew up with The Beast and Vortex at King's Island. The Beast was my favorite and Vortex was my first. I also enjoyed the few good ones they had at Kentucky Kingdom over the years like T3 for instance and Space Mountain at Disney World.

Now a days, I can only do simpler rides like at Universal Studios, but they still hurt my back. Loved the Transformers ride a lot. The Mummy ride was fun as well and actually scared my 10 year old daughter. Also enjoyed the Harry Potter ride even though it broke down while we were on it. We were stuck inside it for like 40 minutes, but it was hot outside and I enjoyed the cool air in there. We got passes after that for a few rides where we could skip the regular line. It is amazing how just random movements combined with 3d video can fool your brain into thinking you're on a much more exciting ride than you really are.

How about this? I might have to take a break if this happened to me.
