To make playoffs, need to win one of two against O$U and Indiana. And no slip ups. Possible. But likely? What does everyone think? What does history under Franklin tell us? Seems that the dam (Allar, Franklin, Singleton) is ready to crack. Our DL is undersized compared to Oregon’s OL. That plus blatant holding never flagged allowed Oregon to continue to do it all game long because they knew it wouldn’t get called. Offensively it was befuddling on the approach. Move on to UCLA. In this day and age of college football, you have to treat it like the NFL. One loss is just a loss. Just don’t pile them up.
A 330 lb thumper in the middle is something that we have needed for 15 years......... especially if holding is not called. Oregon OL maybe the best we will play this year....... certainly one of the bigger OLs.Our DL is undersized compared to Oregon’s OL. I had a bad case of that years ago from a chick at Zeno’s! Took 6 months to recover! What’s a Codutti?
The “fun” factor is real in my opinion. We had a bit if fun with Tyler Warren last season, but overall the offense was stuffy in 2024. There were moments of fun with Singleton in his freshman year, Jahan Dotson and Hamler in recent years , but the overall offense has not been fun since Barkley and McSorely era for both the players and fans. The only time they look like they have fun in 2025 is with Kaytron running the ball over, through, and around defenders. Our qb plays scared, so most of the offense plays scared as well. We definitely have a more upbeat “fun” approach on defense where the players legitimately look like they enjoy playing the game of football.Good video......things that I pulled from the video.......
PSU one play away from winning so many times. In OT Moore fumbles the ball we almost recover, if we recover, game over. They have 4th and 1 and run up the middle they get a good run of about 3 yards.....iwe stone them on that play, game over. We score a TD first, need to stop Oregon from scoring a TD......but do not.
Not to mention the "fumble" that was called back, the interception that gets tipped in the air and Oregon catches the ball. If we would have made one of those plays, the analysis about the offense being subpar goes away and we celebrate the big victory.
I was despondent after the game........ especially with the offense but the 4th quarter and even first OT give me some hope that we are close.
Players that impressed: Kaytron, Amare, Xavier, the whole DB Core, Ross, Pena, Rojas. Need more from Durant, Allar, TEs, Singleton, OL........ Dawkins seemed to struggle as did RG, also need more from the coaches to give the offense some easier plays with a chance to be successful.
One of the things that I have read from a number of posters, writers is that PSU does not look like they are having fun, did the pressure to win the National Championship talk weigh down the team? Looking for some leadership that gets the team up and having them pour a whopping on UCLA and NW to get ready for the 1-2 punch of tOSU and Indiana.
