Cole Guffey from 7a Hazel Green High School would be a great fit at UK. His high school coach is contacting the UK staff about him. Here is his website with info -www.coleguffey.com
Yes I'm his dad but wanted to let you guys know he is on UKs radar. his recruitment is really heating up right now. USM, Memphis, Troy, and others coming to see him next week.
He broke 3 ribs in the first game of his senior year and had to sit out 2 games. He came back to reel off 5 straight wins to lead his team to the playoffs. He plays football and basketball and this is why he is under the radar to this point.

Just thought I would share...been a Bama fan all my life but would love to see him at UK!

Obviously the coaches who are paid for a living to evaluate talent, develop players, coach games, etc. will know much better than I but we already have a guy enrolling early for the spring semester. Plus we have two QBs verballed for the 2017 class, although one of them is said to potentially considered for a position change. Finally, we are pursuing a Juco QB to supplement our rotation. From my distant vantage I wouldn't think the UK coaches would want/need to consider another true FR QB in the 2016 class, but

If the UK coaching staff is interested in Guffey, that's fine. Best of luck to him whenever he ends up.

Looks like he has good accuracy and a quick release. The issue I see is, and correct me if im wrong, but from his highlight videos, he doesn't look to have much arm strength. Several of the passes that were tds in his highlight videos would be interceptions against sec defenses without more zip on the ball.

Not that arm strength is everything, Towles has a Joe Flacco esque arm and still didn't do squat.

Thanks for the comments. Look at his sophomore and junior film. Arm strength is not an issue at all he throws a baseball around 88mph. He was more concerned about dodging DL & LBs and throwing a catchable ball. :)

As long as he has enough zip on the ball to get it to the target without it getting picked, sign him up. Looks like a good player.

I would not be surprised to see UK go harder after this guy if Johnson to UK doesn't work out. Even then. Hinshaw is absolutely not afraid to play a freshman in the SEC and he would provide much greater depth at the position. Would give us 4 scholarship QB's this coming season and potentially 5 QB's in 2017. Not bad, especially for a position which as of right now, has ONE scholarship player (I don't think Hoak is on campus yet).

Nice job of taking the high road, plenty of critics on here.

Yes, but I am not sure the final chapter has been written on Towles, I think he gets at least an NFL tryout even if he does nothing this year. You don't teach his size, speed, strength, and arm strength, but you can teach a lot of the other things, including confidence, maybe some success required there.

I think towles was destroyed by his situation. 2 head coaches, 3 offensive coordinators, thats alot of change for a college player. I hope he gets his nfl shot and makes the most of it, as you said, you cant teach his measureables.

There are some impressive catches in that highlight. Bring some of those receivers with him

add to it, he had to play behind a line that couldn't block my 86 year old grandmother.

Yeah but to be fair...Your Grandmother has a nasty spin move! And I think that walker gives her an unfair advantage! [laughing]
