There were those on here that was worried that UK wasn't willing to spend enough NIL basketball money to compete at the highest level. Now you can put those worries away for ever. It looks like that Kentucky out spent all other schools. But that's the way it should be. The BLUEST OF ALL BLUEBLOODS (KENTUCKY) SHOULD OUTSPEND EVERYONE ELSE

Dont think we spend over 2M on one player

We probably pay between 1-2M for multiple players

But no one gets extremely high NIL

Main rotation probably all get similar money
I'm with you no one will ever know how much was spent it will always be pure speculation.

I hope this isn't true. And if so, I hope the media can't confirm it. If they do, then that's all that will be talked about all season long. Every. Single. Game.

Then if we don't win it all, or at least get to a FF, the story will be that we couldn't even "buy" a championship. OSU dealt with that talk all through the football season. Of course, they backed it up. Here's hoping we can too.

Any team releasing such information is asking for chemistry issues. That's why there are NDA's involved. They don't even want the players disclosing how much they get.
It's all pure speculation.
Do you know for a fact that the players sign NDA's?

Like I stated in another thread, there are different ways to skin a cat pertaining to building a roster. You can choose to not pay a boat load for 2-4 players and have a very deep bench, which gives you a more elite starting lineup. Or you can spread the money out and not necessarily get the elite of elite, which gives you a deep team 1-10. Hopefully this works for us this year!

The negative to this is it really puts the pressure on the coaches and administration to make sure that this is correlating to success on the court, i.e. championships.

Otherwise, it looks like a failure.
Yep. Boosters won’t keep throwing their money at nil unless it produces titles. Atleast not to this level.

the numbers are wrong, in the end they will end up making around what that person tweeted but only about 12 million will be from UK and UK boosters etc. the rest is what being a blue blood does for our players getting them national brands NIL

My opinion, and I expect most to disagree, is that this roster is weak when in context of the most expensive roster. No real star power -- JQ is a star, but the special circumstances around him give me Shaedon Sharpe (worst case) / Harry Giles (reasonable scenario) vibes. Obviously the best will be a full recovery and return to ASU form. Rest are just role players (at least next year). JJ obviously a wildcard but don't expect him to be transcendent in yr 1.

It's a good roster, but seems lacking compared to OSU football's "most expensive" roster last year. Personally I'd rather have BYU's star power / $$ distribution.

Again, expect to catch a lot of hate -- and the hate would be reasonable. We'll see how it all unfolds when the season starts.

But I thought UK didn't play the NIL game and only got players who wanted to be at UK. lol. Freaking simps.

Having high expectations is not a negative if you have the right leadership. Good leaders should embrace a demand to excel.

Oweh was all-SEC and Lowe was all-ACC. Both role players?

I used to like the recruiting aspect of college basketball. While I like that players receive money, I think my interest in following UK like I always have, is beginning to wane.
If we actually have more money to spend than everyone else then why did so many players, that we heavily pursued, turn us down.

No one is lying because everyone is guessing. Not a single poster has a clue how much we have spent or how the NIL pool is divided. This is just a wild *** guessing contest. This may be fun but hopefully everyone realized it is just a fun guessing game.

This is OT but has to do with NIL spending that makes me happy. What an idiot, I bet after his tax and agent bill he is going to make close to a million dollars less now a year when he had a guaranteed multi year deal to go pay California taxes lmfao.

After throwing away his more than $2 million per year NIL deal in hopes of more money, Nico Iamaleava is reportedly receiving far less money than he sought in his transfer to UCLA.

Not only did he not come even close to the $4 million mark that he wanted in his pay raise, but he’s actually taken a decline in pay with his UCLA deal rumored to be in the $1.5 million range, according to Front Office Sports. He’s also left Tennessee and its nonexistent income tax for California, which boasts the highest in the country

Respect your posts and analytical insights. I'm not big on Oweh -- a player that misses that many layups is not a "star" to me. Obviously, he can improve. Lowe, I'm not high on -- significant downgrade from Butler IMO. Again, can improve (as Butler did). We'll see. Butler had a FF pedigree, however and had a rep for nasty defense.

Just my opinions.
